Kwomi Tyshawn Johnson is better known by his stage name “iKiD Kay", which is an acronym for “I Know I’m Dope.” Lyrically inclined, iKiD Kay is an artist who is on the verge of a major breakthrough. With an extensive vocabulary, ear-catching wordplay and elaborate stage performances, iKiD is definitely a menace to the industry in his own right.

Despite his age, iKiD is no rookie to the music industry and he has proven time and time again to not only being more than just an outstanding songwriter, he is also an overall performer. At the age of eight years old, his family relocated to New Orleans where he was raised. He developed his passion for music. His creative niche was recognized at this young age by way of “hearing” melodies in his head; while all of the children were out playing, iKiD Kay was inside creating music.

Hailing from a family of entertainers and musicians, iKiD Kay began his journey to stardom by becoming a constant stand-out amongst his peers. He began performing tracks with content that was lyrically extensive, yet fun and catchy. His creativity and showmanship caught the attention of many, landing him exposure through auditions, talent competitions and several showcases. He created such a buzz that heavy weights such as Lil Wayne, Sean Garrett, Shakespere, Snoop Dogg, and Jay Z were amongst those who recognized his artistry and all agreed that he would be a great asset as a part of their own labels.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina forced iKiD and his family to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia. Although his family and he lost everything, he was still motivated to keep his dream alive. He remained hard at work with his eye on the prize - success. Following the move, he went on to open for artists such as Gucci Mane and T.I. of the famous empire Grand Hustle. Based off the combination of a growing fan base, the new wave of technology and his love of true Hip-Hop, iKid is ready to take this industry by storm. He has also been an instrumental and powerful force and has led writing teams that produced many of the familiar hit records of our time.

Throughout his growth and experiences he has learned the importance of 4 things: always remain true to yourself, learn to perfect your craft, dream big, and execute your plan. Never forgetting his family’s motto of “Paying it Forward”, iKiD is determined to keep the hustle and creativity in the family. With his knowledge, he has groomed and developed his younger sister/actress, singer, and mogul "Cymia" into a Pop Star.

iKiD is currently working on numerous projects as well as his own highly anticipated project which is set to be released Fall of 2013. Ready to take the world by storm, the “iKiD” brand and its newly formed empire is certainly a force to reckon with, and is sure to go down in the history books as a name to remember.
