Local hero, legend, head and general music guru, Takuya Nakamura aka Space Tak brought all the tools with him for this hybrid live/DJ set involving an OP-Z, an OP-1 and a trumpet. /// Lucía Haze is a Mexican artist who has been on the scene since 2012. Her silky mixing combined with her musical style of soft techno and house rhythms earned her a spot in top nightclubs in Mexico City. She eventually went on to play at sought-after festivals around Mexico, including EDC and Pal Norte. Lucia has expanded beyond mixing and into her own live act which she calls “Sexy Vocals.” Blending her voice with techno, tropical and deep house, Lucia has created something that is ethereal, groovy and feminine. She has toured the US, Argentina and Colombia, receiving international recognition and accolades. In 2016, she was awarded “Best Deep House DJ” by DJ World and in 2018, she made the “Bud Light Hit Makers” list with her single “That Life”. Additionally, she was a finalist in Buenos Aires’ “Musikplatz: Musikrennen” and in 2020, DJane Mag Latin America included her in their top 100 at LATAM level at position 80. Lucia currently lives in New York City which has led her to a weekly residence at Moxy Chelsea and shows in emblematic spots. Today she has 27 singles across digital platforms with more than two million plays and was recently signed to Insomniac Recs. STNS sub-label which has had a big impact on her career.

/// There is something about the freedom found on a dark dance floor that holds so much possibility. Years of performing and writing music have given the Panooc an intuitive and organic approach to the studio. Their latest EP releases meld rolling bass rhythms with jazz riffs and classic house vibes, moody melodies with uptempo beats, off-kilter melodic bloops with smashing drums, and disparate influences from all things in-between and on the fringes. 
 
Their sets draw from crates full of house, techno, acid, breaks, disco, and leftfield bass, integrating live saxophone and adding layers of sound and improvisation to tap into the collective and immediate exchange of energy between the DJ and the dancefloor. They have brought their deeply groovy sets to the sound systems of the colorful House of Yes in New York City, Glasgow’s fabulous queer party Shoot Your Shot, Dalston Superstore in London, Musicbox Lisbon, and the legendary Tresor Berlin & Sisyphos, to name just a few.

"I had the pleasure of first meeting Lucía back in April 2022 when XOXA was having its big 5 year anniversary celebration, one of the venues being Black Flamingo (where Russell E.L. Butler was our guest headliner). She had moved to NYC recently then and I got to exploring her sound and sets online, instantly intrigued and excited about the music she plays and sets she crafts - she integrates genres and musical flavors that I find incredibly fresh, with notes similar to my own.

It was back in March 2023 for a late night show on The Lot Radio that there was an opportune moment for us both to get together to share our sounds and play together for the first time. For this, I decided to open and close for Lucía so she could really spotlight for and although it wasn't a strictly b2b affair, I love how the overall arc and our own sensibilities flowed from one to the next. We went on a great journey for those 2 hours and we're happy to share it again for our 6th Year Anniversary here on the Blend Mix series!"
