ROI is one of the most alert and creative minds in Spain, but also an insatiable producer, if we talk about experimenting with the electronic music from all angles. This is attested to by his Fanzine project, which he co-directs with The Panic Room. And it is that, in this electronic principality, where everything is governed by concepts such as purity, elegance and devotion to music, people like Roi are admired, capable of sacrificing his best years to contribute their grain of sand to the cause, forming professionals.
As a DJ he manages, without losing sight of his tendency to dance and reflection, to combine, depending on the moment, a multitude of genres with coherence and enjoyment, in equal parts, until weaving together a story with a beginning, middle and end.
He does not lack notable virtues, but the ones that should be recognized the most are his perseverance in his musical project and empathy with the public on the dance floor. In the same way, as a producer, he manages to give coherence to a wide amalgamation of influences from several decades, this unique work is very personal, and like few others, it is capable of triggering a feeling that is sometimes disconcerting, familiar and welcoming at the same time.
ROI could be defined as a cultural agent, who, beyond bringing a breath of fresh air to the dance floor, tirelessly seeks to renew the musical language with brilliant ideas that make that experience magical, unique, but above all, so much fun. as accessible and enriching.

Which artists has influenced you the most? 
- Throughout my life, I've been influenced by different artists from various styles. That would be an incredibly long list, so I'm going to name some of the more recent ones: bands like Ulcerate, Fallujah, Animals As Leaders, Meshuggah, and artists such as Robert Glasper, Alfa Mist, Christian Scott, and Joey Alexander.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future? 
- I'm currently working on my new Live Set. I'll be presenting it in December during the Fanzine Fest, and after that, I'll be performing it at various clubs and festivals. Regarding new releases, I prefer not to talk about them until they're public, but I can hint that some very interesting things are coming.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now? 
- I have great respect for 'old-school' artists like Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, and Dave Clarke, for everything they've done for the scene. I'd also like to take this opportunity to name many artists from my country who are doing incredible work and are making, or are going to make, a big impact. To name a few: Dark Vektor, Robert Cosmic, Lefrenk, Mist Gasp, Oxygeno, Irrational Language, and many more.

What inspires you now to create music? 
- What inspires me most is being at peace with myself, nature, and the music of other artists. 

What set-up do you use when creating music?
- My setup is very simple: two monitors, a sound card, a keyboard, Ableton Live, and a few plugins.

Strange But Dance Music #207: ROI

Riccardo Andreucci aka Genetik is an Italian-born DJ/producer based in Tenerife (Canary Islands). His passion for music in general started at an early age when his parents, who were great music lovers, made him listen to vinyls of the greatest artists in the history of music such as Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Bob Marley, Genesis, Michael Jackson and many others. But his passion for electronic music and in particular Hardcore, Techno, Frenchcore was born in 1997, when he and a friend attended one of the big free parties at the ‘Villaggio Globale’, a legend of the occupied Roman social centres. Over the next few years his passion grew out of all proportion and so he decided to buy his first sampler and a computer to start studying, and to composing his own music. In 2016 he decided to leave Italy and move to Tenerife, where in the following years he created OBLIVION #solotechnobrutale, one of the most emblematic Techno parties in the south of the island, creating the first real Techno scene, and also created DNA inc. Techno label together with his fraternal friend Tzoltek, where he releases his tracks. His musical style is characterised by powerful kicks, rolling basslines and scratchy synths that create an explosive mix of Peak Time & Driving Techno. 
His performances reflects a deep emotional complexity paired with rich, immersive brutality.
