"Highly regarded around these ways for introducing the likes of Ronce on his Dawn Records label - with whom he collaborated on the ‘Aquatics’ LP - and a string of ace compilation cuts, visual artist-turned-producer Hajj renders his most ephemeral yet affective conception of a negative ecstasy in ‘Drag Me Into the Void’. The three tracks reprise the billowing introspection of his 2020 debut for Brothers From Different Mothers , ‘Dédicace À Personne’ with a subtly refined palette and sound design, dematerialising traces elements of late ‘90s trance and up-to-the-second trap into thee gauziest, gently buoyant ambient space.

The trio of tax slot neatly into YOUTH's cross section of contemporary bedroom/living room/imaginary club space with a breezy mutability. ‘Drag Me Into the Void’ appears in subtly alternate mixes, bathing a trance siren vocal refrain in anaesthetising reverb and vapourized traces of emo-rap drums with a sublime sense of deferred gratification on the original, while nipping/tucking to more elusive allure in the ‘Euphoria’s death edit’. In the middle ‘Reverse Catharsis’ augments the syrupy ambient rap aesthetic with more pronounced woodblock percussion hinting at Burial hitting the downstroke, and lit up with killer, trancey hyper-blooz synth plucks. APEAK 'Serenity Before The World'

After a hiatus from his solo project Paavo Piekkari returns to Changeless as APEAK with his latest club forward offering ’Serenity Before The World’.

The four track EP explores what it’s like to exist in the world filled with distractions, love, hate, guestlists at various clubs and magick. Metros run at tight intervals in every part of the world, and people desire closeness after every afterparty. Perception of one’s reality can be altered with rituals or small bags of powders. If our goal is wakefulness, do we still fear the dreamless sleep after?

’Serenity Before The World’ opens with ‘Terminus’, a hard-hitting, noisy and colossal intro in the realm of the EP. ‘Terminus’ if followed by a collaboration with the legendary Northern Electronics and Posh Isolation affiliate Varg²™; their track ’Humid Air (上環)’ was born after two days of frenzy in Hong Kong together. The city seemed to breathe in and spit out everything that it inhaled, from the Rolex storefronts to the bright lights of the skyscrapers. While the first tracks of the EP showcase a more familiar sound from APEAK, the ecstatic ‘Dreamless Sleep’ unveils an entirely new, more euphoric side to his sonic palette. The EP’s closing track ’Stillness (TOMEANGLS)’ is an optimistic lullaby, that features guitars from fellow Hollowland band member Jonathan Engeldahl.

From Ben Thomas aka BNJMN comes an entirely new and different project, BRACK. Following a string of excellent releases for the likes of Rush Hour and Delsin, the Berlin-based British producer has launched his own imprint. Its inaugural release promises to simultaneously satisfy long-time listeners, and throw them for a loop.

BRACK 001 sees BNJMN venturing outside his digital domain for the first time, eschewing polished, computer-based constructions for an altogether dirtier, darker sound. He’s in raw, rare form on this EP, layering distorted samples, seething synths and coarse drum work to hypnotic effect. Nevertheless, the young producer’s deft hand and knack for trance-inducing grooves shine through the miasma. As with his best works, these tracks are alternately retro and forward-leaning, expansive and introspective, and completely singular. With his new label, we can expect the same characteristic combination of sounds and sensibilities. Step into the unique sonic world of BRACK 001.

Although a new name on the scene, Faetch's advanced take on harder edged techno is far from the work of a rookie it would seem.
