ETNICA (aka PLEIADIANS and ETNICA IN DUB) are Ibiza-based Italian duo Max Lanfranconi and Maurizio Begotti.

Extraordinary music producers of various electronica genres and among the global scene’s most acclaimed live performers, ETNICA have pioneered the global phenomenon that is psychedelic trance since the late 1980’s as doyens and undisputed innovators, trail-blazing the planet with their immense, charismatic live performances as constant favourites on international line-ups at all of the world’s top events. Vertigo Records has reached a decade of its service for delivery of original quality psychedelic music to the people. And we would like to make another mark in the history by our special anniversary compilation which we believe represents all stages of the development of label’s sound. In this CD we have collected most interesting tracks from our resident artists, who have been with us through all those years and become regular features of our compilations and released their albums on Vertigo records- such as Ocelot, OOOD, Transdriver, Terrafractyl. Also we included those special tunes that have been sort of secret tools for Vertigo resident djs for years but have not been officially released yet for some reasons such us Glooex, Hired Hoonz, Dohm, Trippy Trail and also very exclusive rare unreleased track by God Father of Russian psychedelic sound Zolod (R.I.P) aka Parasense, aka Terminator aka Freaking,aka Deja vu Fabrique. "The Ritual of Initiation Vol.1 is the expression of the growth I have been thru as an artist and as human being. It stems from the dedication and commitment to taking people on a journey thru themselves. To create the music that’s emanating from me, to let it guide me and express itself  using me as its vessel. It will take you on a genre defying trip, combining the best of both worlds, light and dark, modern and retro inspired. Close your eyes, let yourself be guided thru the sonic landscape.
This is the first Volume of the 3 part series which will showcase the different facets of this project.
The Trance Dance Ritual  was written in early 2018 and was the first “oficial” NAACAL track. It was the culmination of years of listening, learning and experimenting and it was the moment I realised I can actually express what I want. It will forever be a special one for me. Massive thank you to Ed Mondo for enduring the countless hours of hearing this track come to fruition and the constant input and reaction to what was happening.
We are the Ones was written in November 2018 and it was the closure of an era. I remember an huge sense of empowerment and accomplishment while writing it, and ended up stumbling into a video that captured exactly what I had in mind! So massive thank you to Anthony Coyne for the inspiration and for letting me  turn your expression into mine.
Both tracks are heavily influenced by the modern sounds I grow up listening together with the retro sounds that shaped me in the last 5 years, and they showcase the last couple of years of work and are quite different than the work I am working now.
And finally, want to thank Fernando Rodrigues for helping me get to grips with this incredible craft, for encouraging me never to take the easy way out and to stay true to myself as a human being and as an artist. For being the biggest example I have of what id strive to become, and for always being there for whatever it may be. Without you this Ep would not exist!
