George Matthaiou is a singer, guitar and mediterranean instrument player(lute-nei) and a world-ethnic music composer and songwriter.He studied Byzantine vocal music,European music theory and clasical guitar, but his interests guided him to the mediterranean instruments and music traditions of Greece.He participated as vocalist and player in many named greek music bands and artists, and he has collaborated at concerts,radio and tv productions with greek,balkan and turkish musicians.From 1992 till today he organise ethnic and traditional music concerts in Greece,European countries(UK,Italy,France) and also in Usa(New York).He recorded 3 personal disks with his own band "Idiomelo" and these days he is working on a solo world music project, composing and playing music with his wife Bali Despoina(also musician and oud player).George Matthaiou and his wife, are conducting a private music school,in Lagadas, where they teach music to children.
