March 2nd, 2019 marked the completion of one epic songwriting project.   In February of 2018, George challenged himself to write a-song-a-week for one year... while he only completed 47 of 52, it still called for a Grand Finale.  And so he struck up a band called The Public Service and put on a show in the sanctuary of St. Andrew’s Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This song-and-story-filled concert featured cameos from the year-long “Diamond Sushi Song” project.

The Big Sing is a bi-weekly drop-in singing event at Gus' Pub in Halifax, Nova Scotia established in January 2017.  

January 14th, was the 3rd anniversary of TBS as well as my last night was my final night serving as the co-host and musical accompanist for The Big Sing.  Three years of singing with strangers has given me more than I ever bargained for.  On my final evening as co-host, I prepared a speech and cried through the entire thing.  I forgot to record the live crying version, so I’ve recorded a version in my home.  It is a reflection on what The Big Sing has come to mean to me, from where I have been privileged to stand over the past three years, stage right,.. best seat in the house.
