The Big Sing is a bi-weekly drop-in singing event at Gus' Pub in Halifax, Nova Scotia established in January 2017.  

January 14th, was the 3rd anniversary of TBS as well as my last night was my final night serving as the co-host and musical accompanist for The Big Sing.  Three years of singing with strangers has given me more than I ever bargained for.  On my final evening as co-host, I prepared a speech and cried through the entire thing.  I forgot to record the live crying version, so I’ve recorded a version in my home.  It is a reflection on what The Big Sing has come to mean to me, from where I have been privileged to stand over the past three years, stage right,.. best seat in the house.

In 2018, George gifted himself a personal challenge: to write and share “a-song-a-week” for one year.  Over the course of twelve months, he completed 47 out of 52 songs.  When his time was up, he struck up a band with friends in his neighborhood and put on a concert.
