Classics from Black dance and electronic music pioneers like Frankie Knuckles, Egyptian Lover, Carl Craig, LTJ Bukem, Larry Levan, Osunlade, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Jesse Saunders, DJ Spinna and more. House, Techno, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass is Black music history. 

I also shared five dance tracks by Black artists that were foundational for the trajectory of popular music on the @kalwradio blog - you can find it at Kalw.org/music. Black innovation has been at the intersection of electronic dance and pop music from the start. Songs like Beyoncé’s “BREAK MY SOUL,” Inner City’s “Good Life”,” or Kanye’s “Fade” have all sprouted from the history of drum machine and synthesizer mastery.

Sugarfactory in Amsterdam is a dynamic, open-minded and creative place where club, live music and theatre meet. The club have played host to many renound industry parties and artist including the late great Frankie knuckles. Sugarfactory is also an upcoming stage for live music, offering the perfect venue for both small and intimate and larger-scaled gigs. This 700 capacity venue was the perfect match for our debut party.
