The South Korean producer based in MXC unveils her latest EP "Lynch” where Sci-Fi and Dark Disco collide. After her take over of Burning Man’s main Mayan Warrior stage in 2019, SHUBOSTAR has been on the rise and she’s only just begun.
Our journey begins with "Lynch", a title which pays homage to the renowned American filmmaker, David Lynch. A punchy track built around a captivating bassline where atmospheric melodies gradually creep in.
The exploration continues with the dreamy 'Maoi’. Haunting keys, shamanic voices and a striking rhythmic base fold into one another to create a meditative masterpiece.
On the remix side, Darlyn Vlys, Damon Jee and Curses take our cosmic-disco trip straight to the dance floor. The French duo, Darlyn Vlys & Damon Jee, tackle ‘Lynch’ with a fast pace interpretation. A base of percussion and drums, distorted by guitar riffs perfectly meld to get your hips shaking.
While Curses, the American producer based in Berlin, introduces New Wave and Post Punk influence to ‘Maoi’ to create a hypnotizing club jam.

"When I was asked to do a podcast for the Good Fruit series I was pleased to get an opportunity to share some sounds that captured my ear over the last couple of years. Sharing music with other people was a regular thing for me in the past but has become rather rare these days, and I recently felt the urge to reconnect on that level. As I see music as a celebration of life, this sound journey represents exactly that. Whether it's joyful rhythms or sorrowful melodies, they all have one thing in common: they make me feel alive. You'll hear sounds from the four corners of the earth, both grounding and uplifting. Tribal, rootsy, profound and raw. During the process, I tried to grasp what makes me like a particular piece of music and not another, and it became clear that, no matter what style, it is integrity which makes it reach deep into my soul. Follow-up EP for Multi Culti from this Berlin duo merging sleek Krautrock influences, decades long production experience, jazz-percussion chops and funky German vocals. 

‘Kometenschweif’ will sound the most familiar to fans of Sascha Funke’s club-ready tracks, with percussive and vocal flourishes from Niklas Wandt.  ‘Kreidekreis’ takes the tempo down while ramping up the trippiness, a circular journey into funk bass, synth prog, and again, a percussion masterclass. Finally ‘Weg Vom Leder’ sounds like a lost Falco tune, brought up to date.

On the remix side, Alexander Arpeggio somehow manages to swing ‘Kreidekreis’ into a digital reggae slowburner, while Whodamanny turns Kometenschweif toward indie-kraut-wave bop.
