"When I was asked to do a podcast for the Good Fruit series I was pleased to get an opportunity to share some sounds that captured my ear over the last couple of years. Sharing music with other people was a regular thing for me in the past but has become rather rare these days, and I recently felt the urge to reconnect on that level. As I see music as a celebration of life, this sound journey represents exactly that. Whether it's joyful rhythms or sorrowful melodies, they all have one thing in common: they make me feel alive. You'll hear sounds from the four corners of the earth, both grounding and uplifting. Tribal, rootsy, profound and raw. During the process, I tried to grasp what makes me like a particular piece of music and not another, and it became clear that, no matter what style, it is integrity which makes it reach deep into my soul. Mr. Wempe likes music with soul. He has been DJing with records for many years and has been hosting the monthly party series "Soul Gallen" at the Palace (St. Gallen) since 2010. The musical spectrum includes Motown classics, Northern Soul rarities, deep funk, rhythm'n'blues, dancefloor jazz, boogaloo, afro-beat, rocksteady etc. It doesn't matter if it's from the 60's or today, as long as you can dance to it. As DJ Soulsonic he co-founded the internationally successful event series "Rap History", furthermore he is co-owner of the record store "OOR Records" in Zurich.

It was a thought hovering like a seagull over this archipelago...I wanted to speak with it in the bird language, to see from a flight altitude, to find out, or rather even to feel like who I really am...The sea heard the voice of the soul and irrevocably dissolved in itself...

I whispered to the waves, ceasing to believe in the reality of what was happening...After all, if I no longer exist in any of the spaces I experienced in one way or another...

''Then where am I?''

To look beyond sight, to rush through your heart, be blind to this world, see with your own eyes - look into the hidden and find true face there...

One of Rio de Janeiro’s DJ scene highlights, Carrot Green brings his city’s musical traditions to the modern dancefloor. It
is easy to find in his sets different styles such as Techno, Slo- House and Old Disco, making him a versatile artist that adapts to virtually any type of circumstance. As a Red Bull Music Academy’s alumni in 2013, he expresses his eclecticism not only with sets at parties, clubs and festivals such as Voodoohoop, Mamba Negra, ODD, Dekmantel, Katerblau, Wilden Renate and Mareh Festival, but as well in his musical productions - solo or in partnership with national and international artists like the electronic music group Teto Preto, Eric Duncan and Selvagem. Last but not least, he signs collaborations and productions for Disco Halal, Barefoot Beats, Mamba Records and other labels.
So don’t be surprised if you hear Carrot Green playing a mix of Acid House and Techno after a set by Marcel Dettman at 7AM or hypnotizing the dance floor with shamanic rhythms at 90 BPM for an audience in trance. This is the kind of unpredictability that will remind you of Carrot Green for a long time.

Ojoo are intimate gatherings with dedicated DJ's playing whatever they like for a crowd where everyone can feel welcome.  A series of events bringing forward-thinking underground electronic music with a sincere passion for vinyl . We need our music to be challenging and innovative and hold a high appreciation for artistic individuality (as opposed to hypes or trends) with the utmost respect for the veteran artists who over the years continuously maintain a standard that we greatly appreciate. We need a connection between artist and dancer, so the small and intimate venues is where you will find us.

RECORD LABEL
The idea of creating a platform that supports artists we stand for would not be complete without an opportunity to share their music with the world. To offer this, we started with the record label to release music that we believe should be heard and shared for people to enjoy, clubbers to dance and DJ's to play. 

The passion for the original craft of spinning tunes, that certain pleasure in the effort when playing and a love for the classic physical format has led us to release on vinyl only.

In the summer of 2019 our first EP ‘Club Rotation’ by ‘Session 4000’ was released. The second one in October 2019 by ‘Gols’. His first EP is appropriately titled ‘Delay is Okay’ referring to the time it took before opting to release one of his productions.
