A Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island Sound Map site:

~ Short version of field note: 

This church ruin sits on an apex of Hancock Road along the boundary of Inman and Back Valley. At an elevation of about 200 metres, to the south the view looks over rolling paddocks, Range Road and the southern edge of the Fleurieu. Patches of remnant vegetation surround the ruin, which was the region's churches from 1856 to 1910.

FKISM: Pioneer Congregational Church ruin, Inman Valley - July 2023

A Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island Sound Map site:

~ Short version of field note: 

This is one of two AudioMoth recordings that were made on Lady Bay reef over a week in late December 2022. The AudioMoths were deployed with the intention of observing the soundscape of two underwater locations and were configured to record for 1-minute at 10-minute intervals over a 24-hour period for the week.

~ Short version of field note: 

A typical Sunday lunchtime soundscape in the seated area under the verandah of the Country Kitchen bakery on the main street of Myponga. With a cornish pasty consumed, I positioned the recorder beneath my beanie to record the sound of customers coming and going through the screen door, whilst a fellow seated patron periodically rustles a paper bag containing a disintegrating meat pie.

~ Short version of field note: 

Recorded at the entrance to the Nulcoowarra (Granite Island) causeway, as waves crash on the shore and seagulls jostle for dominance. People pass bay and a bell chimes in the distance - an indication that the horse-drawn carriage is about to depart and take passengers across to the island. Before its departure, snippets of conversation are heard.
