“St. Anger is my favourite Metallica album. For this song I had so much fun being creative and leaning into the sound and spirit of that record. The lyrics are inspired by an experience I had following a caffeine detox; I accidentally ordered regular instead of decaf, which led to an afternoon of the shakes and shivers. st. caffeine = frantic.”

I’m circling the pain 
Sweating and blood rush
Attention electrified 
Meeting my match and feeling my pain 
An earthquake inside

A shot takes me
It makes me sick
A devils kiss from from this hit

A puncturing wound from the mud
Hanging on to its grip

Holding it inside
I won’t go back again 
Caffeine intake
My shell here remains
Pollution
So toxic
A torture
