“A Dance with the Devil” was written for The One Who Watched from the Fire, where the Devil dismantles not with fire or fury but with poise. Where Never Was is the Devil’s memory of a broken man, and Human Too is the man’s own attempt to reconcile with his shadow, this track is the process itself, the seduction, the dismantling, the slow realization that every step you’ve taken has been on the Devil’s floor all along.
