Holding out for a hero: meeting your idol runs the risk of breaking a beautiful illusion, but working with one? That’s living the dream. And though not short of his own musical achievements, Dave Audé’s dream comes alive courtesy of this transatlantic connection with Erasure vocalist Andy Bell. Taking one of the elder statesman of electro-pop’s former glories to heart, Audé shows a little respect by teasing in classic 80s synth strokes with his contemporary flavours, creating an analog/digital soundclash that proves the perfect bed for Bell’s effortlessly and impeccably delivered vocals. Now here we go!

Erasure - Spiralling: This is my remix of a song from Erasure's second album The Circus. My mix makes use of the midi file arrangement compiled by Mark 'Rasure' Robotham and available from his website at http://www.rasure.co.uk.
The midi file and my mix are based upon the live piano version Erasure performed on the Innocents video. The additional bass-line, minimal percussion and extra 'tinkles' are my own work, and I've also added a middle-section based on the part played on a kazoo during the acoustic encore performance at other Innocents concerts (no official recording is available).
