- Benefits from the statement of Allāh, إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَٰشِعِينَ “Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us.” [Sūrah al-Anbiyā 21:90]
- Imām as-Sa’dī (رحمه الله) on how Allāh described the Prophets and Messengers in this āyah. 
- Reflecting upon the meaning of the terms al-Musāra’ah, al-Musābaqah, al-Munāfasah and al-Mubādarah, and examples of their usage in the Qur’ān and Sunnah.
- The virtue of al-Musāra’ah and al-Mubādarah over al-Musābaqah and al-Munāfasah.
- Following the example of the greatest of the Messengers in having ‘Ulūw al-Himmah (lofty, noble goals/objectives) and firm determination.

- Understanding that trials and tribulations can come at any time and the opportunity to do good deeds can be removed very quickly.
- How a person can become a disbeliever and lose his īmān in a single day. 
- The point at which a person will not benefit from his īmān or acquire any further goodness. 
- An example of how the Prophet ﷺ hastened to good deeds. 
- The generosity of the Prophet ﷺ in Ramaḍān. 
- The example of Ibrāhīm and Ismā’īl (عليهما السلام) in hastening to the command of Allāh and submission to Him. 
- Mūsā’s (عليه السلام) hastening away from his people in order to be in isolation with his Lord. 
- Statements from Ibn ‘Abbās, ‘Alī b. Abī Ṭālib, ‘Uthmān b. ‘Affān (رضى الله عنهم), Abūl-‘Āliyah, ad-Dahhāk and others (رحمهم الله) regarding the meaning of وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ “Race towards forgiveness from your Lord…” [Sūrah Āl ‘Imrān 3:133]
- The shining example of the lofty aspiration and firm determination of ‘Umayr b. al-Ḥammām al-Anṣārī (رضى الله عنه). 
- The fruits of having a lofty aspiration.
