Through 10 decisive MoBlack tracks, produced from all over the world by veteran producers and rising stars alike, '500 Steps' tells many stories: an artist's passion, dreams reached, a genre's evolution, triumphs when boundaries are pushed and innovation when new avenues of sound are explored. The anthology traverses intersections of human connection through music, traveling through memories made in studios and on dancefloors. Along with this milestone, MoBlack lauds the artists' and their artworks' impact on Afro house and electronic music, looking towards the future of sound, gleaming robustly and reaching deeper as ever.

After Elisa Elisa and Emmanuel Jal's debut on Cacao with "Amazigh", we felt it was right to follow with a series of remixes. 

For the first release we feel delighted to present Enoo Napa's version. He is a self taught and renowned producer from the township of Umlazi, Durban in Kwazulu Natal. This time he delivered a dub afro tech interpretation with melancholic synths and dark afro vibe. Hope you enjoy and give good use to this massive dancefloor weapon.

Get Physical now tease a first EP from their Africa Gets Physical Vol. 2 compilation to be released in February 2019.

The EP comes from Enoo Napa, officially the number one Afro House Artist 2017 on Traxsource and a self-taught producer who can do dark ambiance as well as slick tech. His quick ascent through the ranks has taken him to international DJ gigs as well as remixes for the likes of Black Coffee on an array of labels from MoBlack to Aluku. His signing with Get Physical is another big step up that finds him excel once again.

His first offering, ‘We Earth People’ perfectly shows off his style: it has bold, bouncing drums forming the groove as trance inducing, uplifting and late night synths bring light and hope to the track. Slowly taking you ever higher, it’s a subtly epic affair with a real
sense of purpose.

Then comes ‘Innervision’, another track with expert afro drums front and centre and a wide open, late night sense of melody that’s like laying down on your back and gazing up at the stars. It’s a warm, absorbing piece that is always on the move and will make for a highlight in any set.

These two terrific cuts are a fantastic primer for the full Africa Gets Physical compilation to come.

We’ve got another label debut on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records this month in the form of brand-new DJ and producer, Black Circle. Music has always been the driving force for this gifted young producer whose new alias looks set to achieve great things with his first release already being signed to Sabb's record label; RADIANT and receiving support from respected DJ’s in the game; Black Coffee, Nic Fanciulli, Super Flu, OXIA and Âme. His debut single ‘Journey’ showcases his signature sound infused with tribal drums and shuffling percussion, Latin driven melodies, prominent synths and a powerful bassline adding extra depth and intricacy.

Get Physical revisit their Africa Gets Physical compilation this March as they invite MoBlack to remix Blanka Mazimela’s track ‘Gcwanini’. 
Last year saw the arrival of Get Physical’s third edition to their much loved ‘Africa Gets Physical’ series. One of the essential tracks was from album compiler Blanka Mazimela, which saw the rising South-African talent collaborate with Korus and Sobantwana on this incredible afrobeat offering, backed by a stunning official music video set in his home town of Cape-Town.  
The remixer, MoBlack, is a globally renowned DJ and producer within the electronic music scene. He has remixed the work of Cameplhat and Girls of the Internet, whilst gaining support from Black Coffee,                                  
Solomun and BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. 
MoBlack's interpretation is a deep and harmonising affair with an understated musicality providing the perfect soundbed for the original's dynamic and flawless vocals. Tender chords, uplifting atmospheres and vibrant percussion play together below the surface as soaring pads combine with bubbling basslines on this hypnotic journey.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2022 and beyond. To celebrate the occasion, the label will reissue some of its most classic tracks, host special anniversary events and release a new range of merchandise in collaboration with Australian brand One Teaspoon. Get Physical has already made a huge contribution to the history of contemporary house music, but rest assured the German label still has plenty more to say.
