Kindisch Announces Release of "On The Way To Wonderland" EP by Modd and Metanoya.

Esteemed electronic music label Kindisch proudly presents the latest addition to its catalog, the highly anticipated two-track EP titled "On The Way To Wonderland" by celebrated organic house artists Modd and Metanoya. The EP is set to captivate listeners with its ethereal soundscapes and meticulously crafted grooves, marking a significant milestone for both artists.

Modd has become a prominent figure in the organic house scene, with an impressive track record of global performances. As a resident at Miami's Do Not Sit On The Furniture and Ibiza's Pareidolia, Modd has also established himself as a key player in the electronic music community. He is the visionary behind the labels Something Special and Amulanga, and his releases have been featured on top-tier labels such as All Day I Dream & Anjunadeep. Metanoya is a fresh and exciting name with forthcoming releases on prestigious labels like Anjunadeep and Storytellers.

The EP offers a mesmerizing journey through sound, beginning with the titular track, "On The Way To Wonderland." This piece introduces a soft groove layered with subtle percussion, creating a serene rhythmic foundation. Dreamy synth sounds weave through the track, enveloping the listener in a sonic tapestry that is both beautiful and transportive.

The second track, "Above The Sky," continues the ethereal theme with soft organic house synth sounds and an understated yet impactful choir in the background. This track elevates the listener, combining delicate melodies with atmospheric textures to create an uplifting auditory experience that resonates deeply.

Roland Leesker & Sobantwana's new single 'Afunukuthula' is an ode to newborn life. The track comes with a remix from U.S. mainstay Terry Grant.

Roland Leesker is Get Physical's creative director and the powerhouse behind the label both as an A&R and producer. His new album 'Searching For Peace' arrives later this year and is a testament to his versatile, widescreen house sound. In the past, he has hooked up with stars of the scene like DJ Pierre, Roland Clark and Terrence Parker, but here he works with Sobantwana. She hails from "the valley of a thousand hills" in a small town, Tsolo, in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, and her music is a fusion of eclectic soul, smart songwriting and stirring Afro house. 

Their sublime track was inspired by a magical interaction in the studio with ‘Honey’, the infant daughter of Roland’s production partner, Neil Barber. Roland then passed the instrumental to Sobantwana, who wrote heartfelt lyrics in her native Xhosa tongue about the search for peace through the eyes of a mother. The song uses the flow of water as a metaphor for the flow of love and how it cannot be stopped when a new baby arrives in anyone's life. 

Around those moving lyrics, which are delivered with such genuine charm, 'Afunukuthula' has soft shakers and plaintive piano keys that make for a romantic late-night mood. The organic percussion and subtle synth pulses all heighten the emotions and will get dancers in a trance. A Balearic Version brings sweeping synths and downbeat grooves that will sound perfect by the beach, in the sun, on a boat, or just about anywhere this summer. 

Remixer Terry Grant has worked with a who's who of labels from Bedrock to Plastic City, and with artists like Pezzner and Luke Solomon. He has covered plenty of ground in that time and with this remix, he keeps things deep and moody, with a menacing synth motif offset by the heavenly vocals and bright, hopeful keys.

From House To Disco has been serving up their own timeless take on house and disco for a decade. The Brazilian pair always manage to join the dots between the past, present and future with a great understanding of what moves a dance floor, which is why they have been selected for this superb retrospective of the Definitive catalogue. In that time, they have played all of Brazil's most cultured clubs and festivals from D-EDGE to Festa Selvagem as well as visiting parties from Time Warp, Piknic Electronik and Glitterbox and across Europe at places like ADE.
Known for their fine curatorial skills and endless research into dance music culture, their house and disco tunes are well-informed and authentic. They have appeared on labels such as Renato Cohen’s Massa Records, Get Physical sub-label COCADA Music, and climbed high in digital charts while also getting big support from the likes of Palms Trax, Job Jobse, and Jamie Jones.
They showcase their exceptional taste in this collection of classics from the cult Canadian label Definitive. It was founded by John Acquaviva, Richard Hawtin, and Karl Kowalski in 1992 as an embodiment of their vision for house music. "Not too hard, not too soft" was the mantra, and it built up a fine body of talented artists who made a real impact on the global underground and helped to foment a unique identity for the label. Though the label was acquired by Get Physical Music last year, it is still A&Red by John Acquaviva, and this compilation hones in on its still-fresh signature sound.
Opening up the collection is Blunted Dummies, aka Shawn Caesar and Ty James. Their 1993 gem 'House For All' was an immediate anthem and is a chunky deep house delight. Tropical Underworld, aka Jordan Fields's 1995 track 'Chasing Rainbows' was an under-the-radar masterpiece back then and will now make a real mark with its gritty underground sound and lo-fi house aesthetic. Barada's 'Black Magic' is a punchy tech house sound with a tribal edge and panel-beating percussive loops, and then comes John Acquaviva with secret weapon ‘U Ain't Really Disco' Mix of Dance Fever's 'A Woman In Love', a dubbed-out house swinger from 1992.
Jetstream was an alias of Karl E. Kowalski, and his potent deep house track 'Seriously' was the first-ever release on this label and also the only track he ever put out. Acquaviva then features again with his lithe and liquid dub tech cut 'Boomjak' which is lit up by soulful Detroit pads. Omega Man's 'Happy Organ' is another full-blooded house cut with retro-future basslines and erotic vocal coos all the way from 1994 then Wax Fruit's 'Be Yourself' (Ron Allen Dub Mix) is a brand new version of an all-time deep house classic that oozes finesse and luxurious synth-strings. Closing out this vital collection are the four superb From House To Disco remixes of Definitive tracks, which also come as a standalone vinyl 12".

From House to Disco showcase their timeless sound on a new remix of Las Americas for Definitive Recordings. This and three others feature on a compilation they have put together for the classic label.

‘Disco House For All’ is a deep dive into the legendary Canadian label's back catalogue and features four new remixes from South American pair From House to Disco. They have long been defining the sound of the Latin underground with their fine blend of past, present and future sounds on labels like Renato Cohen’s Massa Records and Get Physical sub-label COCADA Music.

This remix finds them flipping Las Americas's 'Look, Listen, Love' into a seductive but jacking sound with brilliant '80s drum and a peppering of toms that will shake dance floors loose. An iconic early Chicago bassline then roams through the mix to captivating effect as bright chords finish things off in style.

The original also features and is a heavily percussive and multi-layered tribal deep house gem with a steamy atmosphere. Last but not least, Robotman remixes it into a more thumping cut but still with a delicious bassline and some extra acid lines that bring an all-new edge to the timeless original.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2022 and beyond. To celebrate the occasion, the label will reissue some of its most classic tracks, host special anniversary events and release a new range of merchandise in collaboration with Australian brand One Teaspoon. Get Physical has already made a huge contribution to the history of contemporary house music, but rest assured the German label still has plenty more to say.
