Words from the artist: "I’ve never recorded such a long studio mix before and since we all can't play parties anymore, it felt good to do it. The mix reflects an all-night long set as I would play it right now, compressed into 3:33 hours. The evening starts with warm and smooth breakbeat tunes in the first half hour and are then followed by smooth deep house tracks. After that we go straight into the night with a wild ride between Progressive House and Melodic Techno. Besides some new stuff from myself I will also present upcoming releases from my label Radikon". 

BIO: Spirited emotion is the protagonist in Jonas Saalbach’s brand of electronic dance music. Deeply uplifting and body-moving, he has released eps and long players with Einmusika, Bedrock and his own imprint Radikon. Hailing from a small town in southern Germany, Jonas moved to Berlin at a young age to pursue the dream of bringing his musical vision to the world stage. A decade later, he has performed at hundreds of locations on five continents, the world-renowned Burning Man and Fusion festivals and a cliff in the Norwegian fjords for a sensational back to back Cercle performance with Einmusik broadcasted to millions of viewers. As a producer, Jonas is exceptionally prolific. His sophisticated, hardware-based style gives unusual and particular sounds a new life, morphing them into timeless dancefloor anthems filled with emotion and percussive energy. In 2018, Jonas co-founded electronic music imprint Radikon as a platform for like-minded artists. Based at his studio in the historic Funkhaus complex in Berlin, Radikon has become a collaborative epicenter with 20 critically acclaimed releases in its first two years alone. Jonas’ energetic live performance and singular brand of melodic house and techno has enthralled listeners and club-goers around the globe. Hailing from the Spanish mainland is a sound that’s resonating globally thanks to a choice select of tastemakers that are driving through the boundaries set out by their mediums. A notable character from that sub-culture of game-changers is Marc Martinez Nadal, aka AFFKT, who has been a driving force behind a colorful & empowering sound that is refined by his drive for perfection.

Having worked on coining the sound of this alias since 2008, it has been a plethora of sound, place, person & culture that has provided a platform for AFFKT to experiment with his output. Serving electronica crossover masterpieces that delve into the many sub-genre’s of house music via key imprints such as Suara, and his very own Sincopat label, and expressing versatility digging deep into his influences of the local by delivering heart-stopping, engaging techno on the likes of Kling Klong & Noir Music, AFFKT has committed to a life of synthesis and this is what sets himself apart from a comparatively shallow glance at dance music. 

Once described as a “Son Of A Thousand Sounds”, AFFKT has evolved to a career peak where he has surpassed expectation and enjoyed praise from his peers. Cutting through the ranks, his path has retained an essence of so many that have influenced him, he now sits shoulder to shoulder in skill & presence.

The sixth episode of the microcastle podcast welcomes label artist BOg. The Romanian born, now France based producer has been one of 2016's most hotly tipped talents. 2015 proved to be a breakout year for BOg with his 'Drawing Board EP' (some of which in conjunction with Jonas Saalbach) getting released on Bedrock as well as appearances on Get Physical and Alex Niggemann's Soulfooled imprint. The year concluded with a remix of the Bedrock classic 'Emerald'. The contemporary melodic number proved to be one of the winter season's biggest records, setting the stage for 2016 and his much sought after and recently released 'Rewired EP', also courtesy of John Digweed's Bedrock Records. BOg made his label debut with us in April delivering a gorgeous remix of Mike Griego's 'Idioglossia'. It's deep, melodic sensibility proved to be a favourite with Hernan Cattaneo who charted the production at #5 in his monthly Top 20 and it also achieved success reaching the Beatport electronica tracks Top 10 while the EP was #1 in Progressive House, #2 in Electronica and #4 in Techno. For the sixth edition of our podcast we're pleased to present an hour and 20 minutes of BOg's set from the Bedrock Easter Showcase at Ministry Of Sound, London just over a month ago. Featuring fresh music along with several unreleased projects, it's a snapshot of a magical night at MOS with one of the brightest talents in the underground. Enjoy.

So, in anticipation of The Odyssey, and another trip round the sun, the duo has curated this uplifting Foxcast, to remember the great times, and look onwards for more. 

Originating from Cologne, Andhim was immediately lauded for their funky upbeat sound in 2010 when minimal was all the rage. Unique and signature, their sets caught the attention of the Get Physical imprint, on which “The Wizard of Us” was released in 2013. Their own musical odyssey led them to creating their own label, Superfriends in 2016, when they self-categorized themselves as “super-house," lest they be pigeonholed to any genre in particular. To Andhim, it's simple: make and play happy and carefree music.

The duo kicks off this Foxcast with a groovy, melodic symphony of synthesized sounds that sets the tone to hypnotize for the entire hour, a taste of what’s to come on NYE. Bouncy bass lines weave through an atmospheric, spacey soundscape provided by tracks like “Sideral (BCN Version)” byTalaboman, “All Is Well” by Jarry, and Rüfüs Du Sol’s Underwater (Adam Port Remix). 

With such positive vibes, 2019 is looking bright already.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2022 and beyond. To celebrate the occasion, the label will reissue some of its most classic tracks, host special anniversary events and release a new range of merchandise in collaboration with Australian brand One Teaspoon. Get Physical has already made a huge contribution to the history of contemporary house music, but rest assured the German label still has plenty more to say.
