Bringing another gem to the forefront, DGTL Records releases new music with DJ/Producer Randy Collé (@colleofficial). The young artist’s years of production experience, combined with a multitude of music styles, is mirrored in his timeless yet fresh sound. Following the success of his single ‘Losing Time’ featured on his jointly-run label ‘Point in Time’, the 4-track EP reflects the emotion and depth that Collé has long brought to his sets. Inspired by artists like Cubicolor, Canada and Floating points — the new EP will be released on the 18th June 2021.

Setting the scene for the EP, the opening track ‘ATFER’ eases the listener into those first few moments on the dancefloor; with enticing grooves accompanying melodic electric-guitars and dramatic synth build-ups. The track is a direct imprint of his distinctive genre of music, which despite steering clear of clichés, manages to resonate with all audiences. It also embodies the inspiration for this release, stating “I always want to create something I feel touched by.”

It’s the perfect warm-up to what follows. True to its name, ‘Horizon’ is a playful storytelling of groovy electronica coupled with entrancing undertones. The surging nature of the track keeps the listener closely in its grasp, and is a masterclass on sleek sundowner sounds. It’s the perfect deep-dive into Collé’s production process; which he describes as a short film for which he makes the soundtrack.

Showcasing a more emotive style than its predecessors, ‘Now Here or Nowhere’ is the third track on the EP; with a somber take on signature house-percussion and emotive synth chords. Merging a sense of contemplation and depth, the track is an original take on dancefloor production that crosses over to the early hours of the morning.

As the closer of the EP, the fourth and final track is a remix on ‘ATFER’, by Silician DJ/Producer Musumeci (@musumeci). Adding an italo-ish spin on the original, the artist has been specially hand-picked by Collé to work on the EP. Re- imagining the track with his two decades of playing for international clubs and festivals around the globe, his adaptation of signature dance tempos and club-heavy electronic elements is the perfect wrap-up to this unique EP. We’re excited to see what’s next in-store for Collé.

Get Physical Music welcomes back Roland Leesker for one of his standout new singles, this time with a fantastic remix from Alinka. 

Leesker's contributions to this label are always huge: in recent times he has collaborated with Roland Clark on ‘WTF!’ and served up a fantastic cover of ‘Crazy’ as well as co-producing 'No Way Out' with Neil Barber at Hot Kitchen Studios in Berlin back in September. He has a classically informed sound that never fails to unite the floor. 

The vibrant 'Circuit Funk' is an analogue electro jam with rugged drums and old school attitude thanks to the cyborg vocals. The hits are crisp and the bass is fat, with plenty of sci-fi details and an epic breakdown all building the atmosphere before the prickly and physical electro-funk groove takes off once more. 

Ukrainian-born but Chicago raised and now based in Berlin, Alinka is a regular at Europe's finest underground parties. She plays with energy informed by her time in the Windy City and makes tunes that always operate left of centre. She has released on labels like Rekids, Crosstown Rebels and Needwant this year so is in a fantastic run of form that continues with this remix. It is a hard-hitting rework of the original with big, bouncy house drums. Myriad sinewy synths, rasping effects and rising arps pack the groove with detail and make it a characterful cut that brings real freshness. 

These are two stylish party tracks that are packed with irresistible energy.

DGTL Records marks its fifth anniversary in style with ‘5YRS of DGTL Records’. The 14-track long player is released on April 16th as a 4x 12” vinyl set and drops digitally across 4 separate EP releases between February 18 and April 1, of which the first one features Mano Le Tough, Jimi Jules, Coloray and Tjade.
 
5YRS of DGTL Records is a perfect reflection of not just of the label itself but also its global event patron: headliners sitting equally alongside local talent and up-and-coming acts. Over the past five years, DGTL Records has grown into its own as a fully-fledged musical arm of the overall DGTL musical experience.

Mano Le Tough opens the release with the serene and heartfelt ‘Either 
Way’. He layers lighthearted guitar tabs, mesmerizing vocals and springy synths on each other to create a sublime affair that makes you reminisce and smile about the good things in life. Jimi Jules follows with ‘Anna Bolika’, a hypnotic and progressive track. It draws you in with constant chord progressions and mesmerizing sound 
design. Vocals are echoed cautiously to add to its ominous and eerie 
atmosphere. 

‘Polarity’ is Coloray's addition to the release. It features warm and granular synths, leaning towards the 8 bit retro synthwave sound, while rolling out a breakbeat drum pattern and heavy hitting kicks, with which he keeps the piece energetic and with a driving force throughout. Closing this first of four EP’s, Tjade presents ‘De Halve Maan’, a powerful tune for big rooms and big energy. Analogue synths, progressive bass lines and layers of melodic keys create a sense of revival and resurgence, with a hint of trance.

The kick drums of tomorrow once again begin to rumble in the smog infested, strobe stricken clubs of today. Kompakt’s Speicher series always strives to provide the dance floors with a soundtrack to grant our mind and body temporary refuge and escape. We feel it is more than ever needed considering the darkness that surrounds us all in these times.

We welcome back Marc Romboy. A gifted producer, DJ and friend that has been behind the decks as a key supporter of Kompakt’s music since the beginning. Beyond that, Marc is an astute musician, with releases on many of the esteemed; from Ovum to Innervisions and of course his own Systematic Recordings his music is incredibly varied.

They say that the third time is a charm but in this case he returns to our Speicher series again with a two track EP that feels more like a sequel that is true to the excellent consistency of his previous output. Armed only with a Buchla Music Easel, the Roland TR-909 and an Arp 2600, “Randomized” is pure techno as it tweaks and twists into a complete frenzy. Marc pays homage to the legendary Californian synthesizer inventor Don Buchla with the very trippy churner, “Monsieur Buchla”.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums.
