Sama returned to music in 2021 after leaving journalism behind. Since then, she has gone from strength to strength with her tracks getting support from industry heavyweights Black Coffee, Keinemusik & Adriatique. Kenyan artist Sofiya Nzau's rise has been nothing short of remarkable after rising to global prominence with her performance on the viral hit ‘Mwaki’, released in 2023 and now with over 350 million streams on Spotify alone.
