Hanin Elias, the infamous riot grrrl and digital hardcore trendsetter returns after 
hiatus with the new album “Get it Back.” The long-awaited and much anticipated album 
is a bridge between Elias! familiar digital hardcore style and her newfound explorations 
in other genres. 
Elias!s departure from the music industry lead her to French Polynesia on a small 
island in the South Paciﬁc. There, she made new contacts with Chilean industrial 
musicians like Diego Sagredo of ICI, who invited her to play live shows again. This 
relocation has since expanded her impressive list of collaborators with a more global 
inclusion. Elias! new work features the likes of Italian ﬁlm star Asia Argento, of whom 
she has been touring DJ sets with, Marcel Degaz, Tying Tiffany, Mutfak, Chilean 
industrial artist Vigilante, Yeti Popstar, Mismerizer, Sinddaddy, and an erotic vocal duet 
with Tahitian band Tikahiri on the track “I Want You.” 
“Axis Shifting” and “DO YOU KNOW!!!!!!!” feature Elias! unmistakably distinct 
scream, but with a matured precision and tactfulness that proves she has honed her 
craft. A 2011 update of the fan-favorite classic “You Suck” exempliﬁes her shift in 
musical direction with hip-hop driven danceability and beat-boxing ﬂourishes. Similarly, 
Elias! icy, unforgettable delivery of the classic song “Money” is on par with the infamous 
cover by The Flying Lizards. 
Mostly known as the front-woman for Berlin!s Atari Teenage Riot, solo-releases 
under Digital Hardcore Recordings, and establishing Fatal Recordings, Elias became a 
cult icon favored amongst artists like Kathleen Hanna, who cites her as inspiration. Her 
solo-career includes notable collaborations and remixes with Le Tgire, Alexander 
Hacke, Thurston Moore, J Masics, Alec Empire, Merzbow, TweakerRay, and Pigface. 
She!s been claimed as a “21st Century Punk Goddess” in Chicks on Speed!s 2006 
feminist music retrospective “Girl Monster,” which featured her new album!s title track, 
“Get it Back.”  
“Get it Back” carries a diversity not before seen with previous efforts. Besides her 
hip-hop, electro, and industrial sound, dubstep influences Hanin Elias! vocals take on new grace with the melodic, gothic workings of 
“Melancholia,” a ﬁtting title for the somber, downtempo side of the album--also found in 
Tying Tiffany's euphoric remix of 2001!s “Future Noir.” “Dead Eyes,” hypnotic and 
dangerously seductive, is interjected with scream-rapping, an ode to her digital hardcore 
past. 
Hanin Elias! 2011 comeback is a strong one that not only reassures her place in 
industrial music history, but stands her apart from conventional examples with world- 
wide contributions that stretch from French Polynesia To the US to Belgium, Berlin, France and Chile!
