Last summer, in preparation for the fall tour, I decided to re-master (and in some cases re-create) some Bassnectar classics. I went back into Timestretch & Wildstyle and gave each song special treatment to bring it into a 2014 state of existence: thicker, clearer, heavier, louder, and even more alive. We’ve taken these collections and paired them on CD with releases which had previously been confined to the digital-only realms, with bonus tracks and the new special deluxe RE-DUX! Newer bass heads will be able to enjoy some of this music for the first time, audiophiles can bask in revisiting their favorite tracks with updated masters, and collectors can fill some gaps in their CD discography with first time pressings of Take You Down and Freestyle.

This past summer our good friend Stephan Jacobs came to visit us after he spent a few months cross country performing at The Vans Warped Tour…and he came bearing gifts.  
Gifts in the form of the giant sound bank that exists in his bass inflicted mind.  We settled into our main man Jaywat's production studio and built this track from the ground up in a few short hours. 

As usual when working with Stephan, it was an effortless and truly collaborative experience in which we continued to grow our sound. This is the first of the soon-to-be-released tracks we will be uploading from our upcoming album, "V-Sides Vol. 1 - Kollabs and Remixes" available Dec 21st in a limited edition hard copy at our show at House of Blues, San Diego with our pals Diego's Umbrella and homeboy Minnesota!

So… 

Here it is. The album that we've been talking about for over a year. Scheduling conflicts be damned, we made it happen! Yes, the process was long, and at times it was even a little grueling, but we stuck to our guns and we couldn't be happier with the results. 

Originally, we created about 16 tracks for the album, and then we narrowed it down to the songs that you have in front of you today. It was important to us that we create a collection of music that crossed multiple styles and genres, yet told a coherent story. It's not an easy thing to do, but we feel like we pulled it off by using themes, samples, techniques and by consciously assessing what did and did not work together.

We feel like there is something for everyone on this record and we're very pleased with the fact that we can offer this to everyone for free. All we ask is that you listen to it with an open mind, share it with your friends and come say hello whenever we play a show in your city. 

So, once again - Thank you to each and every person that showed us support over the last few years. We love working together, and have already discussed plans for a follow up album.

This aural depth charge has hit dance floors hard this month, bringing this collaboration project featuring the mighty production of Noisia and the lyrical flow of Foreign Beggars to the forefront of discussion in every territory to those in the know.  

'Make Those Move' has also received plays at 1XTRA and Radio 1. It’s a call to arms: the siren piercing the sleepy dawn, signalling I Am Legion's imminent and deadly impact, explained here by MC Metropolis:
 
“When we say 'Make Those Move', we're talking about the audience at the show, we're talking about making necks snap when you're listening in headphones, making the bass cones move, or the sub stack shift a couple inches to the left coz the bass is blowing shit up. It’s a party track; something that we feel you can mosh to. That was the vibe we were trying to create. It has this cool rebellious Punk attitude to it which is totally in key with where we wanted to go with the project as a whole.”
