This January saw the release of ‘the family we find’, Leaving Laurel’s first original track since their 2021 self-titled debut LP and the tragic loss of friend and band member Pierce Fulton. Now Leaving Laurel release ‘fireflies (for as far as we can see)’, a poignant collection of tracks characterised by warm piano and inviting textural percussion.

Originating from old projects that Gordon and Pierce had recorded years ago, ‘fireflies (for as far as we can see)’ is a fitting reminder of the duo’s unmistakable coalescence:

“As soon as I heard what it could become, it gave me that indescribable feeling of magic that came the first time we worked on music together. And that became ‘the family we find’. The title ‘the family we find’ comes from a translation of a line from the movie ‘Tokyo Godfathers’. A movie about togetherness, following three homeless people that have found their own family together…. In a lot of ways, it reminds me of my connection to the rest of the Fulton family, since Pierce and I started Leaving Laurel."

A tale of two old friends, Gordon & Pierce, Leaving Laurel connected the duo musically for the first time after being close friends for almost a decade. Since their debut release in 2020, the duo have garnered a fervent fanbase and gained support from the likes of Sian Eleri, Lane 8 and Cassian, to name a few, as well as support on BBC Radio 1, SiriusXM Chill and KCRW.

CRi unveils his very own rework of ‘Astray’ feat. Half Moon Run, the second single from his latest artist album, ‘Miracles’.

Canadian indie-electronic sensation Christophe Dubé has been making waves with his second album, ‘Miracles’, which dropped in September and has already garnered an impressive 16 million streams across all streaming platforms.

‘Astray’, the second single from the album, featured the talented and fellow Canadian alternative trio Half Moon Run and was a pivotal moment in CRi’s album campaign, garnering impressive support from DSPs and marking CRi’s first appearance on Toronto’s landmark Dundas Square billboards.

CRi has recently embarked on a 17-date live tour across the United States and Canada, sharing the stage with songwriters and frequent collaborators Jesse Mac Cormack and Sophia Bel. The tour kicked off in October in CRi’s hometown of Montréal, where he graced the iconic venue MTelus, which has previously played host to the likes of Radiohead and RÜFÜS DU SOL.

Adding to CRi’s achievements, his rework of ‘Astray’ has become the most-played track on SiriusXM Chill. In this remix, CRi presents a faster, more upbeat version of the song, characterised by a thumping kick and low synths, while still preserving the euphoria and melancholia of the original.

Located at Tübingen in the south of Germany, Frederik Neu known as Uniqūm is an upcoming talented producer and DJ. On several local gigs for example at the Ract! Festival Aftershow 2019, the legendary Lichterberg event series, recently often at the Ribingurūmu, a lovely bar in the center of the city, and of course on many underground parties, Uniqūm has shown many times that he is able to leave an impact on the dancefloor. While Corona is hitting the whole scene, Uniqūm focused even more on producing new tracks. Bond is just one of many projects which will be released in the end of 2020.
