Brussels-based Karo V. (@djelorac) is back with a full EP after a fantastic debut on our VA compilation. This time around she brings us 2 downtempo / organic house tracks.

With "Aline On The Road" we enter a world of melancholia. Opening with piano and the beautiful sound of rainfall after which she takes us on a fantastic exploration. Throughout the track, she takes a sharp left and moves up the pace a bit. Weary minds can ease up with this warm subtle groove & blissful deepness.

‘Summer Memories" feel electric. It doesn't leave the path of melancholia. Electro at the start, heavy bass but such a warm feeling.

We asked Adrian Roman, known for his mature and melodic style to create an interpretation of "Summer Memories". And so, he did. Het created a sublime journey in which he surely expresses his musical taste and acknowledges what we know him for: creating masterpieces.

JOHN MONKMAN PRESENTS: ASRIEL

John Monkman crosses a personal frontier with the presentation of a new sonic initiative called ‘Asriel’. The project takes fuel from a need for unbridled creativity and a thirst to break his status quo. Recorded in a series of impromptu sessions over a two week period, it showcases John Monkman’s craft in a new light.

‘Asriel’ comes at a time of global pause and isolation. It presents soothing tones as a desired affront to the test of recent times, while also offering up a challenge that encourages one to delve deeper in introspection. Encompassing elements of ambient sound design and abstract minimalism, there are moments of euphoria but also of anxiety and suspense.

“I wanted to make a body of work that wasn’t destined for a specific genre or label. In the past, my main focus in the studio in essence has been writing music to make people dance, to make them move on the floor, and bring people into a peak state of ecstasy, joy and ultimately deliver a deeper connection to themselves and others."

This is very fulfilling in itself, however, there is a vast pallet of human emotion that I don't necessarily want to include in this environment (dancefloor). I needed to create something to take myself outside of the everyday and allow me to get lost and rediscover the unknown and in doing so allow myself to reflect and ultimately reconnect. I hope this is an experience that others can also engage with during these exceptional times.” -- John Monkman

"In this very strange year 2020 nobody seems to be able to escape from the Covid-19 virus. Also the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the most important event in the world concerning our style of electronic music, will only take place in an online-first format, combining an extended digital program with limited physical networking elements. So this will be the first year that Chrom will not be in Amsterdam in October, but the virus can not stop us from releasing our annual ADE Sampler which has become more than a yearly tradition!

On our ADE album called "Amsterdam 2020" we showcase once again some of our talent to the world: we present you 10 brand-new exclusive tracks, going from Progressive House to Melodic Techno. There are 5 new tracks from Chrom core members Aves Volare, Fernando Lagreca, Qarrassa, The Note V, and our label manager Pedro Mercado who teams up for this occassion with Kris Adrian. We also welcome back a familiar face: Hossam Jamaica aka Monostone from Egypt.
