Cyence, aka Belfast based dj, producer and promoter, ‘Steve Boyd’ has been a key playeron the city’s burgeoning club scene for the past three decades.

 Since taking to the turntables in the early nineties, Steve Boyd’ has played thousands of gigs, promoted thousands of events and now owns one of Ireland’s most successful clubs,‘Thompsons Garage.

Over the years, Steve’s universal approach to dance music has witnessed his involvement in many of its incarnations and genres. Throughout the nineties and noughties hebecame one the first Irish djs to regularly play across the length and breadth of Britain, spinning sets at Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Pacha and countless others. Beyond the UK& Ireland, Steve has also completed numerous tours of Russia and headlined gigs across India, China, Arabia and Europe.

A truly versatile dj, Steve has held his own, spinning a variety of styles and sounds alongsidenumerous international artists. From laying down Jacking House with Derrick Carter, Soulful House with Tony Humphries, Disco with Joey Negro, Progressive with Sasha and Techno with Nina Kraviz, Steve’s ability to seamlessly mix and identify quality tracks within each genrehas given him an edge that few of his contemporaries possess.

Steve can also count himself as one of the world’s longest running resident djs with a 25 year stint behind the turntables at seminal Belfast club, Thompsons Garage. Steve has been resident dj at the club’s Friday & Saturday events since it’s opening in 1994! Over timehe went on to promote the club’s weekend agenda,bringing thousandsof acts to Belfast beforefinally going on to buy the club a decade ago. Thompsons Garage remains one of the city’s most successful independent nightclubs and Steve’s Friday & Saturday events, ‘Misfit’ & ‘Stereo Sessions’, continue to pack them in; week in, week out!

Despite a several false dawns in the studio Steve has finally found a sound he’s happy with under his production alias ‘Cyence’. Merging together his love of Italo Disco, Electronica and Techno, Cyenceproductions are aimed squarely at the dancefloor with hisreleases on Correspondant, Critical Monday, Sincopat and Roam Recordings being championed by a variety of industry heavyweights including Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan,Maceo Plex...

Sharing a Berlin studio together for five years before they started working together, Aikin and Monolog’s work together is a testament to the power of collaboration to elevate creative and technical processes. Two styles collide to create something unlike either, the results are explosive, raw and out-of-the-box.

Monolog, an alias of Mads Lindgren since 1999, is famed for intense, densely layered noise-based experiments that push technological limits and fuse his diverse experiences in metal, noise, jazz and DnB. Collaborating with Aikin was a process of slimming his production style down, harnessing the mesmeric power of rhythmic repetition. For Aikin on the other hand, a seasoned DJ whose subtly cinematic productions have appeared on labels like Mord and Gegen Berlin, this collaboration was about reaching for new extremes. Given full creative control by Evar, the result is raw and unrestrained. In Aikin’s own words: “I'd consider this record one of my most savage, but also thanks to that, the most technically accomplished.”

Having shared the decks with everyone from Cubicolor to Martin Roth, and having a debut EP on Bedrock earlier this year, Canada's juSt b is swiftly becoming a name too hard to ignore. Her debut release on Balance delivers an exceptionally cerebral track that will sit flush in many sets. Also featured are four quality remixes that take in everything from deep techno, to breaks and more…

The deep beat on 'Light Sweeper' is undeniable with its mysterious energy. Glacial synths sweep the top end while being punctured by pondering piano stabs. There is bipolar nature to the production: warm and enveloping in the lows yet cold and wintry in the highs. It's a steady rhythm intent on intoxicating you.

The @audioglider remix reconstitutes the original into a thick, almost Amen breaks like direction. The synths are blown up to an optimal size and layered into a melodic sequence, keeping the original mystery. The breakdown is progressive house bliss, melancholy without being saccharine, before crashing back into the rhythm with added vocal by juSt b and soaring strings.

@jameswelsh's deep techno take is filled with percolating percussive hits and melodic arps weaving in and out of each other with total abandon. Featuring a considerably bigger kick, this is one to kickstart the main room.

The @mattrmusic remix starts off minimal with a deep meta physical engine, a hulking rhythm that slowly moves forward. Two separate breakdowns introduce a rising melody soaked in emotion, and the latter explodes into a 4/4 pattern that will sound divine on a dusty festival dancefloor.

If you're after the perfect opening track, look no further than the elegant remix from @ev3rsun. With its delightful opening 2 minute sequence, it is one part ambient and one part secret waiting to be told. It breaks into a gentle rhythm that sets the mood for what's to follow.

Pattison has purposefully made Asyn’s airy vocal the star of the show. With added trademark effects running throughout, we think that Come A Bit Closer is Pattison’s best work to date.

With releases on Renaissance, Balance, and many other respected imprints. Mattr has gained much respect with his progressive breaks sound. His remix provides a balance between day time parties, to sunrise settings, rounding off another fantastic release that we are very proud of.

Korean producer Soolee's second full-length album, Void Time Axis, is a mix of arrangements designed for effective repetition and change, polyrhythmic grooves composed of various rhythms in parallel, earworm synths, and deeply refined ambient sounds.

The eight tracks are represented by letters with different meanings. 시(Si) 始 Start, 대(Dae) 對 Treat, 감(Gam) 堪 Endure, 정(Jung) 正 Right, 류(Ryu) 流 Flow, 인(Inn) 忍 Patience, 극(Geuk) 極 Extreme, 공(Gong) 空 Void. And these letters are arranged to form a story.

Void Time Axis, completed as a single image by removing the time axis from the entire story, is an album of original sound expressed with the identity of a Korean techno producer.
