Tamer Kattan was born an outsider and that's where he stayed. This Egyptian-born American was born into a family of Muslims, Christians and Jews leaving him incredibly comfortable in the uncomfortable. From school yard bullies to an abusive father, comedy quickly became a weapon of this underdog. This award winning international comedian with TV and commercial credits in the United States. A regular at the Comedy store, Improv and Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, he now resides in the UK where you can find him at Comedy Cafe, Top Secret and The Comedy store in London.

In GBA 239 we get better acquainted with Njambi McGrath. She talks about how the sudden death of her father forced her to confront a past she'd left behind and begin a journey of discovery into personal and cultural history she knew little about. We talk about making comedy out of dark topics, the effects of colonialism on the continent of Africa (particularly on Kenya where Njambi is from) and how the west views and distorts the lives of people from African countries.

In GBA 50 we get better acquainted with Mathy. She talks about how the loss of her job and the loss of her dad led to her changing her life. And she talks about her life up to that decision: Her journey from the Congo, through lots of other countries, being expelled from boarding school in South Africa, and the loss of both her parents. She goes though struggles to get employed, to getting a job helping others to get jobs, to losing that job and finding a new direction. Her story is moving, poignant and inspiring.
