Learning to play the Osmose

Quickly put together track featuring the Expressive E Osmose that arrived today. I wanted to investigate how well the Osmose fits in a mix together with the Prophet Rev2, the Digitone and some Eurorack (Captain Big'o + Doepfer A 106-5 SEM + Black Stereo Delay + Z5000 reverb). Rev2 is playing the background drone (on hold), Digitone and Captain Big'o sequenced by the Digitone). Recorded in one take directly into Bitwig. Some EQ on Osmose and mastering through Ozone 9.

Learning To Play The Osmose Part 01

In this track I am using the Sequential Pro 3, the ASM Hydrasynth and the Osmose (Eaganmatrix) together. Recorded "live" in one take in my home studio. Sequencing of Hydra and Pro 3 by Cirklon.

Hydrasynth opens with bass, where filter cutoff is modulated semi-randomly from the Cirklon. Next in line is the Pro 3 with a patch inspired by my partner learning to play her didgeridoo. .

All sounds programmed by myself. The Eaganmatrix patch is a noise source sent through the BigBank quad-filter. Lots of experimentation resulted in a breathy, flute like, patch that sounds definitely spooky in the lower registers. Additional reverb effect on Osmose audio provided by Lexicon MX400.

Experimenting with Osmose patch "Jenny Pulse", simple minor key melody playing with right hand. Left hand adjusting the speed macro. Osmose audio also sent through customer patch at Lexicon MX400 (in parallel) to enhance presence and stereo field. Hydrasynth plays ominous bass sound (custom patch), Sequential Pro3 plays background pad (custom patch), further made "digital" sounding with my old Midiverb II (patch 28) and finally DSI Evolvers (custom patch) used to add additional rhythm using it's excellent weird delay circuits.

The Osmose 'stellaris' factory patch, slightly adjusted with the filter macro. Ambient effect produced by routing the stereo audio to Eurorack through the Erica Synth Black Stereo Delay and mixing in the output of the Strymon Starlab. 
Live played, recorded in one take in the studio. Recording of thunder and rain added in post (it felt good adding this!), mixing in Bitwig mastering Ozone 9.

My first patch with the Eaganmatrix Wavebank instrument / oscillator. Because I liked the sound of this patch very much, I had to create a small musical experiment in C minor. 

The track is a direct recording, live, in my studio. Osmose (Eaganmatrix) patch played manually. 

Prophet Rev2, providing the rhythmic part. This is also a bespoke patch, with a teeny bit of reverb from a Lexicon MX400). Sequenced by the Cirklon programmed by me. 

Post processing in Bitwig with a little bit of EQ and Ozone 9 mastering.

Learning to play the Osmose 15

A very simple experimental track based on a 3 second (personally recorded) sample of one of the bells of the "Lieve Vrouwe" tower in Amersfoort. The bell sample is processed by the Loris Synth app and processed into an EaganMatrix analysis which is then used as patch for the Osmose / Eaganmatrix. The Prophet Rev2 provides the bass and flute like sounds. Rev2 is sequenced by the Cirklon, Osmose is played by "hand".
