This is a cover of a Kris Kristofferson song, made popular in the 1976 version by Johnny Duncan and Janie Frickie. Kris also recorded a nice version. I combined elements of both and gave it a Jimmy Buffet-style reggae beat. The song tells the story of Captain Kirk and his tryst with Elaan Of Troyius, though it's not meant to be sung by him, as this singer is actually singing. It's supposed to be another member of Starfleet, reenacting the story of Kirk's seduction by Elaan's tears.
