Banlieue enters 2022 with a bang courtesy of Mortimer Dubaton’s Athens VS Predator EP. Behind this monicker is Louis De La Gorce, an Athens-based French producer, notorious for his duo The Pilotwings and his solo project Eiger Drums Propaganda.

De La Gorce’s well-documented jocularity seeps through this release, right from its title to the track names and actual productions. This idea is approached through another angle with NEED FOR SPEED, a tune where car-related sounds are brilliantly used by the producer. Layering samples and building a tribal groove sprinkled with chopped up breaks, thick low-end bass, and a zest of vocal samples, this mutant track fit for a car chase in the eponymous video game finds its influence in modern hip hop vibes, but the spirit of rave music is never too far. The result is playful, forwarding thinking bass music that will elicit a response from listeners and dancers without fail.parallels with hard drum purveyors.

Like a midnight sky, ablaze with starlight, this sonic tapestry unfolds, a celestial cartography of the soul. The rhythm, a pulsing, crystalline heartbeat, beckons the listener to surrender to the mystique, as the melodic whispers of the lunar muse conjure an oneiric world, both haunting and beautiful. Produced in just a few days with field recordings, modular synths, and shared intuition, the record flows like a fixed point watching everything around it mutate, collapse, and rebuild itself.

Industrial, club, deconstructed, funk, Afro-Peruvian — influences are torn up, distorted, and blended without hesitation.

Both artists come from improvisation and dropped any preconceptions, letting the process itself define the sonic world of HIPERLAXA — transient, intense, danceable, and unexpected.

More than a record, HIPERLAXA is the echo of a vital transition, captured in a moment where everything was shifting.

Over the past month, fans of globally geared dance music have been treated with two new cuts from a joint EP titled To The Floor from producer/DJs Banginclude and Comrade. First, Baltimore club and baile funk single "Wacky Voz" highlighted the pairs skills at mashing genres for a seamless dancefloor staple. Then we were treated to the EP's title track whose dembow stylings proved a natural fit for fans of Major Lazer and the moombahton genre. Now Banginclude and Comrade have revealed the remainder of the stacked six-track EP via Comrade's Xão Productions imprint. For the remainder of To The Floor, the pair revel in sweltering hip shakers like carioca funk cut "Mais Uma Porrada" and bass heavy jersey club fixture "Piere Club." Additionally, Banginclude and Comrade have thrown some individual tracks into the mix with Banginclude throwing an amped up spin on Brazilian superstar MC Bin Landen's "Bololo Haha" and Comrade with a 2016 update of MC Marcinho's throwback jam "Glamourosa."
 
Not their first joint effort, the To The Floor EP is a natural culmination of both producer's many years at the forefront of the global club music scene. New York-based Banginclude, has been a staple of NYC nightlife thanks to his infamous signature sound he calls "Global Booty Bass." An infusion of styles from across the world ranging from zouk bass to jersey club, Banginclude's adrenaline rush tunes have landed him gigs planet-wide from Montreal to Mexico. His sound also caught the ear of tastemakers far and wide that have led to releases with Branko's  Lisbon label Enchufada, legendary Latin label Fania Records, Man Recordings, Latino Resiste, and Generation Bass. In addition, BangInclude has also shared the stage with renowned artists including  Schlachthofbronx, Uproot Andy, Cut Chemist, Zuzuka Poderosa, DJ Comrade, Zee Reach, Omulu, and Happy Colors.
 
You may already be familiar with the work of Comrade as well, as it is frequently found spliced into Major Lazer sets, as well as Jack Ü, and Brazilian exports Tropkillaz. Comrade, a veteran in the scene clocking in 16+ years on the DJ circuit, is the mastermind behind Xão Productions, credited with the creation of the "Favela Trap" sub-genre, and noted as the first to introduce Rasteirinha to dancefloors outside of Brazil.

When people heard Root a Pacifica, they got in love with the sounds, richness, and beauty of the afropacific music from the black communities of Colombia.

Ironically this album is released while Colombian people celebrate their battle of independence, while the minorities are struggling to exercise self-government, and usually sovereignty, over their territory.

Fortunately we could capture, compile, and share the whole movement; as it needed to be exposed outside the south american paradise, so it could be redefined by NY's Banginclude and many other people like him.

The album drops 6 Bangers which flirt from dancehall to dembow, heavy bass and latin moombahton, while keeping the Pacific heritage of Gualajo, chirimia, marimba, and Choco's rawness.
