Tracktober 025: LA 1984 in Eb Major at 120 BPM

Day 25 of my Tracktober challenge 🎃 — every day this month I’m writing and posting a track sketch. These are works-in-progress (WIP), not finished mixes (I only put max 2 hours into each one!) — the goal is to practice showing up daily, experiment with new ideas, and share the creative process openly instead of waiting until everything is “perfect.”

• Concept: Inspired by Momma! Mom came over and we picked a sample together to play with  
• What I practiced: Filters, effects, arppegiators, synths, some drums

• Imperfections: Definitely needs a counterpoint melody to keep things inteeresting, but i like where this is going, how the build sounded 
• Influences: 1980s movies and my LA friends who can’t wait for the metro to open in 2028!

Tracktober 025 - LA 1984

Instrumental Era marks a turning point for Obscyron — a cinematic transition from lyrical synthpop to a world where melodies and textures carry the emotion.

Across four interconnected tracks, the EP explores the evolution of transmission and silence: the awakening pulse of Instrumental Era, the haunting glow of Dark Radiance, the reflective drift of Slow Transmission, and the conclusive farewell of The Final Signal.

Fusing synthwave, chillwave, and ambient electronic elements, Obscyron captures nostalgia and introspection through analog warmth and evolving soundscapes. While this era focuses on instrumental storytelling, songs with lyrics will still appear occasionally — especially through collaborations that bridge voice and atmosphere within Obscyron’s evolving sonic universe.
