Celebrating five years of the label we are glad to present you our second 12" 180gr record with an excellent compilation of artists!

"A1 - This record opens with a truly groove track from an artist from France - Yann Polewka. This guy charges the perky and deep mood of classic house.

A2 - The next number is a wonderful disco house track from the Italian Luca Olivotto, its tune is filled with warmth, love and tropical percussion.

A3 - This position is very conveniently occupied by a duo of musicians from Russia - Guydee & Gronery with their dreamy tech-house saturated with fat bass and enchanting pads.

B1 - The second side is launched by a duet of label bosses with perky house and deep bass. Truly a punchy track for any dance floor.

B2 - Number two on this side was a creative union from Russia with their vision of a deep and dreamy disco house with echoes of a tropical breeze.

B3 - Closes this story - Buzz Compass with the most truly old-school sound of a house built on samples of a classic drum machine and no less consistent mood."

Secretsundaze 18th transmission comes with love from Bristol based artist and newcomer Shanti Celeste. With just a few releases under her belt on the likes of Julio Bashmore's Broadwalk, her own label BRSTL and Idle Hands (the infamous Bristol shop where she also man's the counter a few days a week) she has been quick to impress. She played secretsundaze earlier in 2015 and will play our birthday party in just a few weeks and is a fine DJ with great selection and skills. She recently played back to back with Julio Bashmore on Boiler Room. Her monthly show on NTS Radio has been building nicely so we thought it only right to invite her to do her first 12' for us. This will also be her first release on a non Bristol based label so a coup for secretsundaze we think.

A.1 'Golden' is a hypnotic, bouncy house groove that doesn't stick the regular 90's house template with some great synth action and manages to be both wistful and and bumpin at the same time. 'Nu4him' is a stunning, moody track with lush chords and Shanti's own vocal refrains. 'Golden dub' breaks it down for a more experimental techno excursion eschewing some of the melodic flourishes of its counterpart with heavy kick, 808's and some detroity vibes. Final cut 'Sun' starts off all ambient and atmospheric later picking up the pace with some more stomping electro influences.

secretsundaze has been on a great run of late with Endian's 'Finish Me' featured on the likes on Joy Orbison and Scuba's Radio 1's Essential mixes and 'SS1' on Nick Hoppner's well received Resident Advisor Podcast. Shanti Celeste one of 2015's breakthrough artists continues in that veign with 'Alma.'

Better Listen Records continues its hot streak into 2018 with a debut EP from Joe Corti. The young Londoner’s short discography is off to a strong start with singles on the always good Pusic Records, the always sleazy Mr. Nice Guy Records, and now a proper artist EP on one of America’s most promising underground house labels.

Comprised of carefully selected samples and exciting arrangements, From London With Love shows off Corti’s ability to dig out timeless samples for the dancefloor and weave them into a DJ’s dream. Special People and Mr Kuti make up the rowdy, percussion-filled A-side, while Thinkin’ and Fulham Broadway go a little deeper into disco territory — keeping in line with the label’s roots.

Special People and Mr Kuti are definitely cut from the same cloth, both containing a myriad of elements organized into hard to pin down but nevertheless emotionally engaging tracks. The repetition of the samples at play could easily get stale but, as the lyrics cleverly float in an out of understanding, one forgets about the message, stick to the feeling, and keep on dancing. Thinkin’ switches up the formula in favour of strings, cheers, and smart filtering. Rounding things off is Fulham Broadway, a funky number full of syncopated hits and an oh-so-sweet bassline. The tracks here could be from almost any era of which conveys a maturity beyond the producer’s years. From London With Love is out on vinyl January 26th.

Premiere : Saint Paul - I Really Wanna Get To You [Moonrise Hill Material]

Outplay was founded in 2012 by Dutch producer duo Fouk, otherwise known as Daniel Leseman & Junktion.  The label focuses on the deeper side of house and for their next release it’s a three track affair by the elusive and ever so mysterious Clive from accounts.
 
Number cruncher extra-ordinaire by day, brilliant music producer by night, Outplay are pretty amped to release this EP by the self proclaimed “regional tiddlywinks champion” and “all-round beige sky thinker” Clive.  Who says office workers are drones? Loitering around the coffee machine surely has had no bad effect on his creative juices.  
 
Clive first sent in a one track demo of “Bisou” and the label was blown away by the top notch production quality, feeling that it really stood out from anything else in their inbox.  Over the course of a year Outplay asked Clive to fill out an EP.  The end result is a record with three very strong tracks, each with its own character.  “Keep Movin” is perfect for big dance floors and filthy sweaty clubs.  The title track “The Trouble With Clive” has that big beefy garage effect going on.  The EP closes out with “Bisou” - a floaty warm stabby breaks affair with nods to the classic deep house sound.   Oh ….and I’m supposed to tell you that it’s Hawaiian shirt day on Friday!
