Fusing many styles and genres from within the realms of good quality, bass-driven electronic music, industry legend Vinyl Junkie and DJ sensation Rachael EC are very proud to present the launch of their brand new label, GHETTO DUB. 

For the first release, Vinyl Junkie teams up with Kickback and Birmingham based reggae vocalist Peter Culture, to bring you “Rat Race”; a powerful song which Peter wrote as a teenager in the 1980’s that still resonates with the youth of today. Accompanied by some thumping 140BPM breaks, growling subs and 808’s coupled with grinding bass stabs and reggae and rave influenced harmonic pads, this track spectacularly launches the fledgling label and gloriously pilots it's premiere with a sound that represents the labels mission statement well.

Yorkshire's première purveyors of bass and breaks, 601, step up for a remix that drops the tempo to 130BPM, bringing elements of house with a big pulsating riff, bouncing beats and 808's emphasing on the melodic aspects of the original. This will go down a treat with fans of the Stanton Warriors and Freestylers pantheon of sounds, making it a solid choice for any tastemakers out there looking for a solid addition to that Beach Party or Festival set showcasing an alternative angle on an already solid track.

Bringing the jungle pressure and hot off of critically acclaimed releases on Asbo Audio, Durban gets militant with weighty breaks and a roughneck bassline that will leave a hole in your chest and for the devout followers of the drum and bass sounds, Traced goes full attack for an energy fuelled techstep offering with a massive driving hook, sharp as a razor that whips the listener up and onto a euphoric roller coaster ride that fans of RAM and Technique Recordings will absolutely adore. 

Starting as they mean to go on, Ghetto Dub Recordings present this first absolute home run of a debut single, paving the way for a release schedule that is already hinting at some powerful new releases from some of the UK's most promising producers.

The collaboration between Oldschool Dancehall legend Burro Banton and Swedish producer duo PAPA Sound on the song Good In Di Street, meet up with UK Jungle/Drum'n'Bass producer Toby Ross for a late night stomper, Bristol Style!

Brittish Jungle/D'n'B producer Toby Ross steps in where the collaboration between Burro Banton and Swedish producer duo PAPA Sound left off. The song Good In Di Street has had a few alternative versions, see the light off day. This time it takes a Bristol style kinda turn, when the rising DnB prodigy Toby Ross cooks it up his way! The producer from Bristol, who recently released his EP "Beyond" on Liondub International, has recently been ranked as number one on the Juno Downloads DnB charts.

Burro Banton (born Donovan Spalding; 27 December 1956 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a dancehall reggae deejay popular in the mid-1980s and 1990s. He is most famous for his anthem "Boom Wah Dis", which was recorded on the Steely & Clevie riddim called "Street Sweeper". Burro emerged during the mid-1980s at the beginning of the digital dancehall craze started by King Jammy that also featured artists like Cutty Ranks. He is known for his very aggressive style; deep, gruff voice; and was the inspiration for many modern dancehall artists like Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, and Elephant Man.

PAPA Sound is a Swedish producer duo focused on creating bass driven, dancehall, afrobeat, and reggae tunes. Founded by Patrik Arve and Paolo Albo, Papa Sound became a duo in the year 2020. The name PAPA comes from their given names initials Paolo Albo and Patrik Arve.  In their songs, they vent the issues and passions they have in common, from social injustice or environmental issues to just their love for music

“Usually we are looking for the spark in the gap between different genres. For us, 90% of good music is all about the attitude. It's more important than your actual "skill". Hence our love for punk, hip-hop and reggae. We are baking outernational musical biscuits full of bass and riddim. The vocals are, at this point, made by guests from Jamaica or Africa and is considered the icing on the cake.”

Patrik Arve is one third of the award winning group Teddybears with hits like “Cobrastyle” featuring the Jamaican Mad Cobra, the song has the song has at this point 50 million streams. Arve and Teddybears have made songs with Beenieman, Ninjaman, Elephantman, Busy Signal, Cutty Ranks, Ward 21, Wiley, Kano, Ghetts, Iggy Pop, Eve, Robyn, Neneh Cherry to name a few.

This track was made live on my Twitch stream as part of the first volume in a new series of Production live streams where I make tracks out of the Jungle Beat Battles sample packs.

Jungle Beat Battles is a group on Facebook where someone put a sample pack together, then loads of jungle producers made a track out of that pack, put in their entries, and people voted on their favourite tracks. The producer with the most votes then put together the next sample pack for everyone and it went on like that for a while.
It was really popular at one point but has fizzled out now, however, I wanted to start doing production live streams alongside my DJ set's on Twitch and have decide to make a load of track out of these packs and put them out as free downloads.

So, here is the first one from pack JBB42. It uses a sample from the classic Bob Marley - Exodus track and I made this in around 7 hours across 2 live streams.
