I heard this song by Gillian Welch & was bowled over with her writing and the simplicity of this song. Four continuous chords with repeating melodies & no real chorus.
She wrote it about how musicians are being ripped off by the corporate pirate & streaming companies & having to quit their careers as artists.
I felt it needed to be recorded my way, really enjoyed this project!

My Angels Will Never Return explores the boundaries of love and death-rewired through code.

He was dying. She couldn’t bear to lose him, so she uploaded his soul into a digital afterlife.

“Why’d you go?

But longing isn’t logical. When she follows later to be with him, she finds a fragmented echo, stitched from corrupted memories and twisted by a meaningless and simulated existence.

Inspired by the epic, narrative rock of artists like Roger Waters, this track uses a sprawling, unconventional song structure as a canvas for a profoundly personal and true story: the story of Taavi.

It’s a journey that begins not with joy, but with fear. The story of two people, Fabien and Isabella, thrown into a storm of uncertainty after knowing each other for only half a year. Faced with shattered life plans and the most difficult choice imaginable, they wrestled with opinions, doubts, and the immense weight of a life hanging in the balance.

The struggle continued through a harrowing 48-hour birth in Kassel, a testament to a mother's strength, ending in the cold, clinical light of an operating room. But out of this trial, a new world was born. This song is about that very moment. About the surreal contrast between chaos and peace, between despair and an overwhelming love. It's a raw, lyrical tribute to choosing life when it's hardest, and to the small, perfect boy who arrived and turned everything upside down—making his parents crazy, happy, and completely in love.
