Instead of promoting my new single today, I took an hour out of my day to make a tribute to the late Frankie Knuckles, who sadly passed away this morning. Without him most of us would be doing something else for a career. We own him that respect.

I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

Continuing in the same vain as those prior entries from the likes of DJ Manny, DJ Earl and DJ Taye, volume five comes gift-wrapped by TEKLIFE sensei, Traxman. As one of TEKLIFE's chief keyholders, Corky "Traxman" Strong's beatwork has provided a neat blueprint for versatility within the Chicago footwork sound.

"Thay Act Like Thay Don't No" is empirical evidence of just that, combining neckbreak snare snaps with bubbly undertones and commanding vocal stabs. "Da Rebel" and " Dilla" complete the triumvirate of tunes on the release which arrives on February 24th.
