KiNK's performances are a middle finger to live dance music's naysayers. The Bulgarian house artist shows the broad possibilities of the form by playing his assorted setup with the skill of a seasoned musician. Strahil Velchev's style blends DJ tricks with keyboard and controller manipulation. He also likes to involve the crowd, encouraging dancers in the front row to smash out patterns on his Novation Launchpad. It's one of the reasons he's been a permanent fixture in our best live acts poll in recent years. Velchev has a deep well of killer club tracks—"Bitter Sweet," "Detunator," "E79," "Express" etc—but when he stopped by RA's London HQ he combined "Source Of Uncertainty," a new track from his forthcoming debut album, with a stretch of improvisation. The resulting Session showed Velchev deep in his element.

@panthera-krause has already introduced his music via EPs on Lobster Theremin and Riotvan and his contribution “Coochie” for Uncanny Valley’s 5 Years compilation. On the “Umami EP”, his first solo record for the Dresden based label, the Leipziger is back with an adventurous yet cheerful collection of tracks. He is a producer who is totally up for any influences. But in the end originality has to be the main focus.

The title track has already made rounds on numerous dance floors and proved to be an irresistible organ House monster. Panthera Krause’s tracks wiggle within the zone between epic floor moments and abstract beat structures like in the mighty “Z-Cuts” or in the flute-induced “Howling For July”. Finally, „The Space Between Us” is an emotional ride through the twilight of eternal loss and extravagant hope.

For his 3rd release, Bawrut joins the young French label Hard Fist, it’s hard to put a label on this record, and that is what we like. Like a sorcerer, Bawrut mixes a wide range of influences and energies, concocting a percussive and acid potion based on organic grooves and heavy hypnotic beats that drive the dancer into a trance.
The 3 tracks of « Drums Of Passion » are built on the foundations of French, African and Italian songs, which shows its richness and singularity. You can meet here Serge Gainsbourg, Enzo Avitabile or Tony Esposito, a surprising record from a surprising producer. Bawrut manages to create a mystical and perfect match of those cultures, with a spiritual and unexpected result. Like ephemeral tribes sharing their language, music and beliefs on a dance floor, with no boundaries.
If you want to understand the nature of this record you have to look at the releases name. « Drums Of Passion » is borrowed from an album of Babatunde Olatunji, released in 1959. A manifesto that is reminiscent of the idea that music is a universal heritage with unknown origins, fed by the influence of our ancestors.
With this second release, Hard Fist established its weird identity, still heading in cosmic, queer, tribal and unexpected directions.
