Merry Christmas from everybody at MEOKO! It has been five years since we launched the podcast series and to celebrate, we will be releasing x5 special edition mixes from selected artists over the course of the next couple months starting with none other than Barac. After a long period of time at the top of his game, known for his intricate and high quality productions,on the likes of Pressure Traxx, Meander, and Midi Records. His intelligent and smooth sound is loved by many all over, whether moving the dancefloor in one of the best clubs in the world either mixing or one of his fantastic live sets, or it could be a lengthy journey on the beach in his native country Romania. There is something so special when this man enters the room with an ability to grasp the listener, allowing them to indulge in the variations of sound he has prepared. It is with our greatest pleasure, that we can offer you this tasty cut from Barac's set live from Robert Johnson, in Frankfurt, back in January 2016 for a Presure Traxx showcase. Famous for its intimate vibe, and incredible sound system, to nobody's suprise, Barac steps up to the occassion with low swung minimal grooves lifting the atmosphere, accompanied by his signature curious movements of abstract sounds adding to the story the Romanian is telling. Pressure Traxx are known for their ability to extend much further than what meets the eye, there is no 'same sound', and this is why the wizard we like call Barac fits the bill like no other. A steady motion in to the trip, whether listening in your house, walking to work, or driving in your car, you will be absorbed in to the sounds you are hearing gaining an insight to the tight knit intimacy of Robert Johnson, and what Barac had to offer on the night. Larry Cadge is back this month with another cracking release titled ‘Starseeds’. Lined up for a release in February on Smiley Fingers, this is the latest in a long line of releases that have cemented Larry’s status as a reliable source of quality cuts.

Larry’s latest output is a deep techno banger that carries you on a space journey made of a strong groove, infectious bass riffs, atonal and ambience sounds and a great vocal. Welded together with atmospheric pads and reverb soaked undertones ‘Starseeds’ is a beautifully crafted Techno meets Deep Tech production.
The hypnotic off-beat hats do just enough to create a dreamy groove that bonds together the other percussive elements without ever becoming complicated or overcooked.
Our space trip continues and Larry bring us to another planet called “Echoes”, a tribal tech house banger with deep atmosphere, the perfect tool for every set, with its enthralling bass line, groovy percussions and tribal vocals that will stuck in your mind.

Undoubtedly a highly proficient producer Larry is once again proving why over 18,000 House and Techno lovers are following his story. With some of the most selective underground labels in electronic music already pushing his sounds – he’s no newbie to this game and is a popular selection for those in the know. Ingrained in House and Techno, but free from limitations in influences from across the board, his sound is distinctive, fresh and does the job on the dance floor every time.

We won’t say much about this EP other than it fuses everything we love here at DEXT: hard hitting funky drum programming, super heavy sub basses and shades of rave, house and techno. Backed  with two remixes one from talented newcomer Erosion Flow who has released on Martyn’s 3024 label in 2016 and another mix from UK artists who are synonymous with writing club bangers Mak & Pasteman.

His list of achievements would burnish any CV: a doctorate in mathematics under one arm, and some of the 21st century’s most celebrated electronica albums under the other. He manages to juggle festival headline slots across the world with the live iteration of Caribou, while slipping out timeless dancefloor burners and one of the last ever FabricLive CDs as Daphni. Oh, and he’s a super friendly guy too.

That experience – and crowd-charming magnetism – can be heard all over today’s Dekmantel Podcast, a three-hour tour de force of Daphni in peak-time mode at the peak of summer.
