Taken from his 'Salton Sea' LP released in May on Friends of Friends, Tomas Barfod's "November Skies" featuring Swedish vocalist Nina Kinert was considered by many to be the hands down standout. Now armed with a number of great remixes from Nite Jewel, Sepalcure, Jerome LOL, Touchy Mob and others, the song is being released as a single on 11/26.

Kerri Chandler's MadHouse and MadTech imprints continue the early 2013 with MadHouse serving up 'The Lost Tapes' EP from Jam & Keys backed with remixes from Issac Christopher and Lakosa & iO Sounds.

Matt 'Jam' Lamont and Brian 'Keys' Tharme worked on these tracks originally in the Tuff Jam heyday but the project was never completed. Late 2007 the original project files were unearthed and the duo paired up to finish what has been started and the result is 'The Lost Tapes' EP.

'Anyway You Wanna' and ' Only One' make up the original tracks on 'The Lost Tapes' with a soulful modern house slant. Slick, vocal pieces, it's a testament to the forward thinking nature of the UK's nascent Garage scenes in the early 2000's that 'Anyway You Wanna' and 'Only One' sound so fresh (even with the updated work). Vocals lead the way but classic house beats and ultra modern, grinding bass tones and rough leads provide the backbone to great effect.

MadHouse's own Issac Christopher drops a skipping, energetic interpretation of 'Anyway You Wanna' that kicks like a mule and serves as a tidy precursor to his forthcoming 'The Good Old Days' single for the imprint. Lakosa & iO Sounds, having appeared on MadTech in 2012 with 'Home Early', deliver a forward version of 'Only One' - a piece of loose, broken garage funk that stands out as some of the duo's best work yet.

Jam & Keys themselves serve up a joyful, key-heavy 'Revival' dub of 'Only One' that shines brightly at the end of what is yet another standout EP from MadHouse.

Jam & Keys - Anyway You Wanna (Issac Christopher Remix) (clip)

Just ahead of his second studio LP, ‘Eight Bit Ocean’, James Teej delivers the ‘Liking Your
Disorder’ single, backed with a remix from Timo Maas, for Sasha’s Last Night on Earth imprint.

Having first appeared on Last Night On Earth with the ‘Bring On The Night’ collaboration with Sasha, the prospect of a Teej LP on the label has been rumoured but before that, ‘Liking Your Disorder’ is here to whet the appetite.

Putting a modern and often highly musical slant on the classic punch of house music aesthetics, Teej never fails to deliver fresh sounding material and ‘Liking Your Disorder’ is no different. Fuelled by a 909 flavoured beat that is worked to the maximum without ever overreaching itself, ‘Liking Your Disorder’ throws an elastic synth riff around it’s concise 6 minute length with confidence. Never one to shy away from layering melodies
Teej playfully toys with secondary keys that range from the rhythmic to long held notes which result in an ever changing, densely emotive dancefloor cut.

Timo Maas’ version is very much a remix in the old school sense of the term – using the majority of Teej’s sounds and providing a new slant on them in a subtle and measured manner. Slow burning, increasingly rhythmic and with just the right amount of peaks and troughs, it’s a master class in arrangement.

James Teej’s ‘Liking Your Disorder’ is released on Last Night on Earth on April 8th with the LP, ‘Eight Bit Ocean’ following later that month
