Thank you to Sarah Halatutavaha for giving me permission to do this cover. I Grew up listening to Manu Folau's cover in Niue and it felt right to add my flavor to it now. It has a lil surprise that is not part of the original song. Its not your traditional niuean sound but its my take on keeping it "Roots". So i hope you all like it and share to all your family and friends, I'll do my best to continue representing our lil Rock Niue Fekai...now, the future and beyond.

Island Pride Band was established in 1994 Niue Island with brothers Albert Hekesi, Jackson Hekesi & Glen Jackson. A 3 piece band that grew over the years with family members Sally Hekesi, Rick Tuhipa, Haanz F. Jackson & Moka Kalauni. They have been quietly been in the lab working to put out another album THE BEST OF Island Pride which is due to be released by the end of this year 2016.

Their latest single release #Sipolo is a writen collaboration of Albert, Jackson and Glen. The story of how a man in love with raw fish. Its a fusion of NEW SKOL and the vagahau Niue, it is one of the directions that they have been wanting to experiment with to keep young people attracted to Niue local music. Their band member Glen has recently returned home to Niue from living in NZ and has brought with him the music experiences to share with Island Pride. Together they will continue to take Island Pride Band and the vagahau Niue  into the future while maintaining their Niue Island sound, heritage and Identity.

Fakalofa lahi atu, Enjoy my latest single release called Koli which translates to Dance. The chorus is a traditional chant and the verses are composed my Grandma Rosalina Jackson, Aunty Moka Kalauni & I. Also Ft. on the Cook Island drums - LJ (Lindseyjay from Kabin Bread Boys) The song is about children celebrating that their plantation is complete from planting Taro shoots (Huli)and all the other activities that happen at the bush. The types of Taro, Kaufi, Ufi, Timala & Aniani just to name a few.
This latest project is my contribution to our Vagahau Niue (Niue language), I use music as the platform to showcase our culture and hope that all our young people regardless of where they are born to embrace their language. O Ki Mua Mo E Vagahau Niue - Go Forward into the future With Our Niue Language. This is my passion and drive to push the next generation towards knowing WHO they are, WHERE they from and WHAT they represent.
