Pour fêter la 10ème compilation 3rd Lab et la 32ème sortie du label, nous avons réuni sur cette édition 7 morceaux aux genres représentatifs de l'aventure que représente ces opus gratuits depuis 2010. Au programme, du hip hop avec la première apparition de JIM (Dooz Kawa, Le Bon Nob...) qui nous délivre un morceau boom bap aux ingrédients dont il a le secret, ainsi qu'une collaboration inédite entre Bristol et Mulhouse via le beatmaker Jash qui est accompagné de son acolyte JabbaThaKut aux scratches et du rappeurs français Mr Jack.
Pour poursuivre le balayage des courants qui ont animé le label, nous retrouverons GooMar (Nekfeu, Caballero...) avec un morceau riche en basses proche de tribulations à la Ivy Lab. Illektré propose également un remix de Tokyo Urban Symphony de Ena Eno dans un ambiance deep et caverneuse riche en sub-bass.
Du côté de l'électronique, nous retrouverons Svindrön et son IDM reconnaissable entre mille à travers ses respirations et ses suspensions dans l'espace sonore typique. Djane Ki, fidèle aux compilations depuis leur création, propose de son côté un morceau plus instrumental qu'à l'accoutumée.
Enfin, la compilation s'enrichit de la venue du Qerel Collectif strasbourgeois. Cette fois sous forme de trio, l'ensemble à géométrie variable nous propose "Dans la chute", un morceau folktronic à la rythmique proche de la trap qui n'est pas sans rappeler à travers le chant les aventures sonores du duo Mansfield TYA.

En juin 2011, Art District sort son premier album, Live in the Streets, distribué par Musicast. Un opus inscrit dans la continuité de l'EP de mai 2010, galop d'essai présenté à l'occasion d'une soirée à Strasbourg avec l'une des références du genre, DJ Premier.
Live in the Streets séduit tant les amateurs de hip-hop du cru, que les oreilles affûtées des mélomanes du jazz. D'un titre à l'autre, le groupe brasse et métisse une multitude de styles et partage sa définition de l’éclectisme. De la nostalgie de Back in the Day à la soul de One Love (feat. Maeva), opérant un virage surprenant vers la musique classique dans Moz'Art District, empruntant des sonorités franchement jazzy dans My Muse, le groupe revient également sur des fondamentaux de la musique vocale et swing en faisant un clin d’œil, big band à l'appui, aux grands succès des charts américains avec Sing. Art District n'en oublie pas pour autant de redonner au hip-hop ses titres de noblesse, à l'image de Cell (feat. Gab) ou Live in the Streets (feat. DJ Nelson), titre éponyme de l'album qui côtoie des rythmiques dubstep et drum'n'bass. Un savant melting-pot aux arrangements pointus, à écouter sans modération.

The good old days before the Ghostown started in a Scottish ghost town back in 97 as Rael producer and vocalist.
Relocating to France in 2002
Releasing an album per year since 2018, over 10 albums and over 100 songs

Ghostown is a mixture of Trip Hop, late 90's Hip Hop, Dub + Electro, UK urban sounds with a Balkan and reggae influence and a touch of Tom Waits plus a splash of Brian Eno.
