a. I'm João. I share my solo music under the name Villa, Redhead for the most part right now, and I also have a few collaborative projects in the works. I am based in Lisbon, Portugal.

q. is there a story behind the mix?
a. Not exactly. Maybe not in a linear or traditional way, but I feel like everything comes together in unison,or at least I hope so and tried to make it that way.

q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?
a. At night, before going to sleep. If there were any sources of inspiration for the mix, they were definitely some of my favourite music that I listen to before falling asleep or while I’m sleeping.

q. describe a favorite object in your living room...
a. A Buddha statue.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?
a. Yes I am, and you can already hear some of it in this mix.

I am incredibly excited to officially launch my new mix series, spirit paths, with an inaugural mix of ambient, glitch, and sad/slow guitar music from yours truly. "My hope is for spirit paths to serve as a space for contributors to create something honest and vulnerable. Something that feels nourishing and true to them. An opportunity to dive deep and let the music guide us. At the core of this series is the belief that when we approach our art with honesty and an intent to share a real piece of who we are, it can bring us towards a greater understanding of ourselves and each other. And in some cases, it can even connect us to the spirits of those we love.

With that said, I am honoured to bring you the first edition of spirit paths with an inaugural mix from myself. I’ve spoken plenty already on what the series means to me, but for my mix I think it’s best to let the music do the talking. I tried to put as much of myself into this one as I could. I hope in its own small way, it can help bring us a bit closer to understanding each other. Thanks for listening, and for being here on this journey with me."

This album is a dream transmitted through frequency.
A cosmic memory of two souls drifting through space, learning each other without touch, without gravity, without certainty.
“Orbital Skin” lives in the Aquarius realm — detached yet emotional, distant yet deeply connected.
It is about attraction that exists before form, love that happens in alignment rather than possession.
Each track is a phase of orbit: approach, resonance, tension, burn, collision, and quiet afterglow.
The story does not resolve — it suspends.
This album is not asking for answers.
It is asking you to feel the pull.

Spinning a new leaf for 2026, co:clear presents ‘Imago’ – a pristine collection of modern-classical electronica from Burning Pyre. With impeccable vocal offerings from Australian poet 3NDLES5 and Shell Company lead-vocalist Rosabella Allen, this album represents a broadening of horizons for the Newcastle upon Tyne denizen, who also heads up the Eastern Nurseries imprint.

There’s a poignant sensibility throughout this body of work: thoughtful melodic stabs pair delicately with emotive ambience and precise textural specks. It’s a sonic blossoming that lays its roots in atmospheric-ambient divagations, yet over time blooms with enveloping subs and skittering percussion – flowering fresh strains of dub, downtempo and trip-hop.
