The Prolific Eatbrain are back once again, with Italian producer Dabs returning to their embracing fold following his 2014 release with them. Having releasing on labels like Dispatch, Avantgarde, and Horizons, Dabs is no stranger to the hard hitting, ultra-modern machine funk sound peddled by the Eatbrain collective.

On his ‘Rawbot EP’ the Italian producer enlists the help of scene godfather Rymetyme, prodigious talent L 33 and  Czech badman A-Cray  creating a free flowing EP that smacks like a heavyweight boxer and sings like an opera darling. 

Opening number Grindwerk combines the trademark spoken word type vocals of Rymetyme, with a steampunk gated synth line, a tough dutty bassline, and the future neuro type drums that Eatbrain artists do so well.

Being a production line of carefully crafted composition with a meticulous production standard, Calyx & Teebee have delivered yet again. And after dominating the Beatport Top 100 with their most recent single ‘A Day That Never Comes / Snakes & Ladders’, they won’t be applying the brakes anytime soon, especially in the lead up to their greatly anticipated second album on the Ram imprint.

Back on vocal duties, Calyx demonstrates the pair’s multi-dimensional approach to beat making. With plucky percussion relaying you through bouncing subs and a drivingly solid bassline, it defines their vast repertoire of style. They’re not scared to dip into unfamiliar territories, with Calyx’s cool vocals sitting on top of lulling guitar rhythms to provide the first part of a diverse and brilliantly crafted record. 

‘Sawn Off’ rolls out next; it’s a grittier track than its predecessor, with a conundrum of hi-hats and aggressive drum patterns. Pounding pads take you towards a colossal break, heighten by the effect of a cleverly placed sample. The track ricochets throughout, not losing momentum or impact, with an intricately weaved structure, one only achievable by a team who’ve been running the game for decades.  

With an album laying just out of reach, each single is bringing us closer and closer to the inevitable. All four tracks prove they’re still a formidable force to be reckoned with; this LP will only emphasise that fact.

Following the huge success of his debut album ‘Caligo’, Spor has hooked up with powerhouse producer Memtrix to present ‘Memtrix & Spor: Darkest Hours’ forthcoming on Sotto Voce/Lifted Music.  The track will be released on 14th September. 

‘Darkest Hours’ begins with a stream of deep cinematic melodies progressing into a melting pot of cutting-edge bass sonics and crisp drum grooves; accompanied by ambient vocals. With over 1 million views on his track ‘All You Are’ on YouTube and over 5 releases under his belt at the age of 19, this is the start of a long journey in the world of drum & bass for Memtrix. "Working with Spor has definitely been an eye opening and insightful experience,” he says, “but I think more than that it's just been really fun. It always seems really natural and fluent in the studio and we bounce ideas off each other really well I think. Obviously it's an absolute privilege for me to work with such a household name who's work I respect so much, and this release is something I'm really proud of and excited about."

The Foreign Beggars return to Never Say Die with two huge reworks from their seminal NSD extended player The Harder they Fall. The EP that rocked the dance world saw the boys collaborate with 6 of their favourite electronic producers to give the world arguably its finest piece of rap / dubstep crossover. A line up which featured the likes of Skrillex, Mensah & Lazer Sword ensured dance chart domination and cemented the beggars place in the annals of dance history. First up, one the biggest producers in the business, and one the best things to come out of Canada since maple syrup, Datsik makes his second appearance on the label to deliver a disgustingly heavy remix of the Black Sun Empire collaboration : Solace One. Having been on the dubplate circuit for a while this one does exactly what it says on the tin, trademark sounds from the Rottun Records maestro that will send kids bananas! And bringing up the rear we have two of the most versatile producers on the circuit today, Eddie K & Statix hailing from Bristol Uk. Competing with Datsik on a release is no easy job, but these guys have delivered an absolute gem of a remix of the Alix Perez collab LDN. Moody and understated, this filtered reece monster harks back to the glory days of jungle and effortlessly rolls them into one awesome dubstep / grime crossover.

We figured it was time for some d&b again, we had a few tracks lying around for a while that we wanted to finish and put out and we had 2 collabs that went well together. We wanted to call it the 'Tryhard EP', cause all the tracks were so full on. Then Nik & Karol (khomatech.com) started on the artwork, and couldnt really come up with anyuthing cool with that name, so we decided 'Imperial' was a better name. The artwork took about a week to make. We are very proud of this EP.

Imperial w/ Phace 
Phace came out to Groningen again, as he tends to do, to do music. We started this one without working on the main groove first, Florian had brought this awesome chord progrssion. We made the intro and progression from it, which is quite different musically from our normal stuff. Then we went a bit theatrical with the music, i guess we kind of suprised ourselves with the intensity of the drop. But it was refreshing to do. And it´s been going down rather well in our sets..

Tryhard 
This is an older track that has had quite a few incarnations. It used to be called ´lomp´, which translates to crude, or blunt. We had it lying around unfinished for a long time, and a certain youtube set rip was getting a lot of love, so we figured we'd finish it. Changed the mix, added a rollout section, etc. One of the inspriations for this track is Bad Company - 'Dogfight'.. such a sick tune.

Dustup w/ The Upbeats 
Our friends The Upbeats came down to Groningen amidst one of their Europe tours and we hung out, got in the studio, found an old unused bass riff, used it in the buildup, recorded all of us going 'HA' and 'ZU', worked on drum fills for a long time, temporarly called the tune 'Pumpers', jumped around in the studio and voila! 'Dust Up' was born.

Containment 
This track has had many faces also. It started as a bit of a Kemal tribute and and an attempt to do as many things with synths as possible, like the main drums for example (FM8). Along the way it became a journey back into the dark spacious sound of early 2000 era D&B.

Emerging last year as Austria’s latest drum & bass talent to take the world by storm, Martin Mefjus as been on a serious roll with his music featuring heavily in the sets of the scenes biggest players. Telekinesis – The Nightwalkers EP. Telekinesis - the highly praised Slovenian duo consisting of Smooth and Markoman - joins an already drool-worthy roster of neurofunk talent on Eatbrain, further solidifying the label’s reputation as a stalwart of quality drum and bass. And with names like Concord Dawn and MC Coppa in the equation, the 6th release on Eatbrain stands out as a must-own for any neurofunk head.

Nightwalkers EP kicks off with an dynamic collaboration between Telekinesis and Coppa, the Berlin-based MC who's collaborations with Prolix and Mindscape made enormous waves within the drum and bass scene in 2012. Telekinesis’s knack for atmosphere comes into full effect at the outset before Coppa's infectious rhymes take hold, winding things up into an irresistible drop. Still possessing the same raw ferocity that Telekinesis has become known for, 'Pocket Full Of Drops' takes their sound into playful territory. Combining their dirty signature bass, cleanly constructed drums, and Coppa's clever lyricism, 'Pocket Full of Drops' a true mood-lifter bound to crush any dancefloor it touches. Good vibes, plain and simple. 

Next up, New Zealand badboy Concord Dawn features on the EP's eponymous track, 'Nightwalkers.' Opening with an optimistic-sounding concoction of warm pads, a light drum break, and shimmering synth arpeggios, the melody soon takes a darker turn as the full-moon comes out and the dead begin to rise. By the time the tune drops, it's too late - you've already been bitten by Telekinesis and Concord Dawn's monstrous musical creation, and there is no hope for you. One thing is certain; 'Nightwalkers' is a hauntingly contagious track capable of turning an otherwise normal human into a mindless dancing abomination. Beware.

The EP's third track, 'Lich,' promises to slay crowds with its upbeat neurofunk vibes. Clean drums, spirited keys, and a dirty yet carefully polished bassline make this energetic roller a dangerous piece of ammunition. Nightwalkers EP wraps up with a truly fun yet complex exercise in future funk, 'She Wants To Skate'. A tune made purely for the dancefloor, 'She Wants To Skate' jumps right into things with tight, lively drums and an uplifting synth riff. Telekinesis's trademark bass warms itself up, before ripping into full swing at the drop, twisting and turning throughout the track amidst a catchy chopped up vocal. 'She Wants To Skate' is a particularly infectious joint, bound to get bodies moving and put smiles on faces.
