The Soul Rebel Project began when singer/songwriter Mike Francis Jr, after having a very successful run playing hundreds of shows up and down the east coast with Artist Mile 21, parted ways with some of the original members of the group. A hiatus was taken to focus on writing and the beginnings of SRP were in the making. After writing close to two Albums, Francis took the idea to close friend Adam Saylor and he recruited members of 3 Vibe and Left Over Wine to complete the group. They immediately began work on the first album "East Coast Island" and from the first sound of the first rehearsal, a new Caribbean inspired vibe was created. Working hard playing all over New England as far as California and Texas, the Soul Rebel Project is having  success with singles like "King" and "Good Burn". Their Second Album "Higher Place" Debut at number 8 on the Billboard Reggae Charts. The band has grown a reputation for improvisational skill and ever changing live shows which helps them standout in a category of their own. New York, NY- The new studio album from international reggae star Alborosie, titled Unbreakable - Alborosie Meets The Wailers United is slated for release June 29th with digital pre-orders going live Friday, May 18th.

Enlisting The Wailers United (former members of Bob Marley and The Wailers with the addition of Aston Barrett Jr.) for instrumental backing, the album upholds the tradition of roots- rock-reggae. While honoring traditional reggae sounds, the inclusion of Alborosie's re-visioning of the Metallica classic "The Unforgiven" featuring Raging Fyah adds a new edge to the album that addresses contemporary issues with a thoroughly modern feel. 

Alborosie is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer and a dynamic talent in the contemporary reggae scene. “Unbreakable” is his ninth album for the Greensleeves label, following his last release “Freedom in Dub” in 2017. “Unbreakable” gets its roots from reggae’s great history and points toward a future vision of the music with the sonic prowess that has become synonymous with Alborosie productions. 
 
The first single, “Contradiction” featuring Chronixx serves as the perfect introduction to the project. Self-produced and written by Alborosie who comments, "the song delivers a message to the people and the youths about everyday life and the social and political climate we are currently living in." Other artists featured on the album are hit makers Beres Hammond, Jah Cure, and J Boog.
 
“Alborosie continues to expand his creative vision,” said Christopher Chin, CEO of VP Records. “This album looks to be his best yet and we are very excited about the release.”

On the cusp of an extensive European tour, music a video for "Contradiction featuring Chronixx" is in production with more videos and performances to be confirmed.

Now, even after everything, you’re still here. Gratitude is a MUST, so I send thanks to The Most High everyday for letting me reach you. Counter to that, which I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, if I fail to provide what you come here for, leave me be. Point. Blank. Period.

Onto.. CENTUM: Latin word for “hundred”. C-note; “C” short for “centum”, and “note” referring to the U.S. 100 dollar bill. Yes, another song about money. One might call me vain or materialistic- and it’s true. I’m somewhat a vanity slave. However, 2 things can be true at once. Even with my want for more possessions, I understand it's not all one needs to be truly happy. In fact, according to a study by nature.com (entitled: Happiness, Income Satiation and Turning Points Around The World), there’s a threshold for happiness in correlation with income. Nature refers to it as ‘Income Satiation’. Globally, they found that satiation (happiness) occurs at $95,000 (yearly) for life evaluation and $60,000 to $75,000 for emotional well-being. At the same time they find that incomes BEYOND satiation are associated with lower life evaluations. In other words, for people who earn more than $95k, happiness diminishes. Not that this stat is cold, hard proof, because things like this vary on the individual, but I think it’s enough to show that being happy has much more to do with other things in our lives that don’t involve money. Also stated in the study, money influences happiness through the fulfillment of both NEEDS & INCREASING MATERIAL DESIRES. Take this info however you might, but I think the knowledge only helps.

Oh yeauh- you might be asking who that is on the cover-art. That’s my grandfather, Eneasi Vakafuhu Teufolau Toki. I had finished up the song and hadn’t given thought to the artwork yet. Randomly goin’ through some old family photos, I came across what is now my artwork for the single. It was instant. Meant to be, if you ask me. What better way to somewhat preserve my grandpa’s legacy than by immortalizing him through my art? None. A lot of who I am stems from him- that goes for many of the people who knew him, especially his kids & grandkids. I know many of you feel the same about your grandparents/parents, so I’m sure you can relate. This one is for them.

Giark is the fresh new young talent with a distinctive style and sound that is set to take the reggae industry by storm. Craig Dixon coined the original stage name Giark which means ‘To eliminate crosses’ 
No stranger to the industry Giark, (Craig Dixon) was literally born into the music genre – born of the cloth of the legendary Bobby Dixon from the iconic yellow label Digital B. 
As the son of the prolific Bobby ‘Digital’ Dixon, the artist inherited his father’s passion for good music. 
From a tender age, Giark always knew that music was his birthright - his future, and he knew he was destined to carve a name for himself in his own right. 
Giark has been working behind the scenes in the recording studio and could find his way around the mixing table whilst his peers were playing in the school yard. 
He started his career assisting his father in the studio engineering recordings and live sessions with musicians from across the globe. He then moved on to engineering independently while fine tuning his musical talent. He has been instrumental in creating music for artists worldwide including Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Daniel Bambaata Marley, Fay-Ann Lyons and Raging Fyah among others. 
Adding to his skills on the mixing table, Giark developed his own vocal skills and has now managed to create an impressive catalogue of his own music. 
Some of his recent recordings include ‘Kingsun’ and ‘So Nice, his lyrical subject range from roots and culture to love and reality. 
He is currently working on a cache of new musical creations infusing dancehall, contemporary reggae and urban music with his own unique sound. Though still trying to figure who his core audience is, Giark claims to make music for ‘ lovers of good music’. 
A force to be reckoned with, Giark is a reggae artist of the 21st century- a name to remember, who has already made his mark and is destined for even greater things in the future .
