Melting Records is pleased to snag and reissue the rare album Five Finger Discount from Budapest-based producer Nándor Kürtössy, known here as Savages. Originally released in 2008 in a limited fashion and only on compact disc, the album has been sought after by hip hop and trip hop heads alike. Melting Records has now issued this classic album for the first time on vinyl and is ready to give these tracks the wide audience they deserve.

Nándor Kürtössy is a prolific producer, behind many projects like Kovacs, Savages y Suefo, and Vega Ass, and is also the founder of his own Hungarian electronic music label, Mana Mana Records. Five Finger Discount was Nándor’s first release, born from the previous few years of sessions creating tracks for himself and his friends. Encouraged to collect these cuts onto an album, Savages was created and this remarkable album revealed. Its legend has grown since the initial release with some considering Five Finger Discount a classic of eastern European hip hop culture. The album track “You’re My Chocolate” has since become quite popular among the Greek downtempo DJ scene.

The melancholic guitars and tranquil atmosphere of “You’re My Chocolate” are indeed special, and its languid beats lead the listener through an evocative journey told through sound. This cut is indicative of Savages’ vibe and is only one of the highlights on this jam-packed album. Cuts like “Lookin’ For You”, “Long Distances”, and “The Blow” also captivate by combining hip hop, vintage lounge, and dance floor appeal into a heady, sample-rich stew. Nándor’s sense of humor is also evident throughout as spoken snippets and spy-crafted rhythms intermingle within the playful arrangements. Savages is on point … and this Five Finger Discount is a hefty bargain.

Gigadeaus O is an independent electronic music producer, DJ, and visual artist. From early explorations in psytrance to his current focus on lo-fi house, trip hop, and experimental electronic, the artist has maintained a singular dedication to creating music that is atmospheric, inventive, and deeply personal.

On YouTube, He is known for video game soundtrack remixes from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, reimagined with a contemporary lo-fi house sensibility. He also hosts a wide range of original tracks and remixes, each reflecting years of experimentation and growth. The DJ sets showcase a mix of house, techno, and psytrance, tracing a musical journey from high-energy psytrance roots to slower, groove-oriented “back-to-the-basics” house rhythms.

A hallmark of his work is visual artistry. Every release is accompanied by original artwork, creating a cohesive audio-visual identity that complements the music and reinforces the immersive experience. Despite cultivating this rich body of work, the artist has never performed live, choosing instead to focus entirely on studio production, recordings, and curated mixes. This deliberate focus reflects a commitment to creative control, independence, and maintaining an underground presence.

Artistic Philosophy

At the core of his practice is a belief in music as a form of personal exploration and experimentation. He approaches each track, remix, and DJ set as an opportunity to refine sound, experiment with textures, and push the boundaries of genre. Early influences from psytrance instilled a love of structure, rhythm, and immersive sonic landscapes, while his later transition to slower, groove-driven house emphasizes mood, subtlety, and musical flow.

Gigadeaus O values authenticity over exposure, maintaining complete creative control while cultivating a dedicated audience that appreciates atmospheric, genre-defying electronic music. Every track is a personal statement, a small journey into sound shaped by nearly twenty years of independent artistic evolution.
