I have made this list in addition to the Shoegaze On group on FaceBook  (https://www.facebook.com/groups/atsbo) that I founded.
I think it’s great that I can help people to get their music out there and help promote, although there is so much stuff out there, it is sometimes very time consuming to pick out the gems. With this playlist I have tried to do that. It is a list of bands and tracks that I think are really worthwhile.

Wah Wah 45s are proud to present their debut Record Store Day special release!

In 2014 the label celebrates not only its 15th anniversary, but, with this record, its 50th seven-inch release, and it’s something very unique indeed.

Two of the imprints best love artists, East End brass juggernaut Hackney Colliery Band, and funky Canadian piano maestro Henri-Pierre Noel come together on seven inches of wax for the first time, remixed by label boss Scrimshire and superstar disco re-edit king The Reflex.

Scrimshire’s re-working of HCB’s version of Kanye West’s All Of The Lights is a horn fuelled left-of-centre club bomb, whilst The Reflex’s ‘revision’ of Henri’s classic Diskette is a disco fuelled take that’s sure to cause plenty of dance floor devastation too.

Having both on one slab of strictly limited heavyweight vinyl with gorgeous, bespoke artwork to celebrate the label’s 50th seven-incher is almost too much! Enjoy!

112 kbps preview. This is a cover of the Walter Murphy classic by the super talented Haitian - Canadian pianist Henri-Pierre Noël, a long lost gem from 1979 unearthed by the Wah Wah 45's label and released for the first time last year. Luckily the multitrack tapes had survived so I had the honor to go first on these. First I did a track called 'Diskette' (preview here, it will be out in a couple of months : https://soundcloud.com/thereflex/henri-pierre-no-l-diskette-o) and then this superb version of 'A Fifth Of Beethoven' where Henri-Pierre excels in re-arranging the famous strings and clavinet licks into a masterful piano performance. My version uses all of the original sounds except for the kick drum that I've replaced (+ fx swooshes here and there). Colours is the musical works of Australian born and London based producer/songwriter Tom Crandles. After countless incarnations, Colours has manifested itself from industrial shoegaze into a mould of its own -- driving grooves pulsating beneath luscious synthesizers and jarring guitars that send you into a lucid dream.

Blood Sister is back with their heady brand of blown-out rippers. Ezana Edwards, formerly of Brooklyn act Night Manager, relocated to San Francisco after the band parted ways and initially started jamming with members of Bay Area mainstays such as Ganglians, The Mallard, and Warm Soda for early Blood Sister shows.

Edwards, who handles guitar/vocals, enlisted Vanessa Robinson on bass, Syam Zapalowski on guitar/synthesizer, and K. Dylan Edrich (ex-The Mallard) on drums to complete Blood Sister’s current live band. On his new self-titled EP for Bloodmoss Records, Edwards wrote and recorded all of the songs himself using a variety of studios and techniques that were vital for its completion.

Blood Sister has and will always be as loud as possible, and the dynamic song structures, screeching guitars, and surging blasts this time around don’t just make up songs, they make up a machine. And it’s a vicious one.
