Jewel Kid:
Jewel Kid was born in Malta and climbed on the music train way back when he was still illegal to enter clubs. Two decades in, and this journey has fast tracked from Dj to Producer with a one way ticket to success.
He is the Winner of the Carl Cox Worldwide Remix Competition held by Beatport for “Best House Remix” and Awarded “Best Dance Production” at the Malta Music Awards. Conductor of numerous tracks in Beatport’s Top 10 Charts, Jewel Kid has signed music with A-Class record labels such as Toolroom, Cr2, Glasgow Underground, Abode, Nervous, Tronic, Suara and many others.
From different platforms around the world, he has embraced the privilege of holding golden tickets and an international gig schedule playing in infamous clubs such as Space (Ibiza), Egg (London), Cielo (New York), Womb (Tokyo), Space (Miami), Sankeys (Ibiza) and many more. His tireless commitment and versatile sound have created a theatre of music for other masters to play and followers to join. This journey is in full speed with a mind full of music and a hand full of dreams.

Jackies Music House Session #248 - "Richie Dio"

Richie Dio:
Music has always been a passion for Richie Dio since the age of six, when he began his musical instrument training in piano, drums and percussion. Since then, his music performance has taken many forms over the years, from jazz groups, rock bands and orchestras to DJ’ing and music production.  Since his first big DJ gigs at NYC’s Tunnel and Limelight the 90s, Richie Dio has played at many mega-clubs and supported such acts as Todd Terry, Chus & Ceballos, Joeski, Oscar G, Harry Romero, Saliva Commandos, Jonathan Peters and others. 
His movement into music production was a natural outgrowth of his many years of musical training and DJ’ing, inspired further by his cousin, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and former American Idol Judge. 
The music comprising Richie Dio’s productions incorporate driving drums and percussion, immersive melodies, chord progressions and arpeggios, and various vocal elements. Across several record labels, he has released multiple singles, EPs and remixes within the genres of House, Afro House, Tech House and Melodic House, with tracks on labels including Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records, Jackies Music, Sektor Rekords, Homewerx Music, Mavek Recordings and R-Trybe, a label formed by internationally-renown producers Huxley, Ramin Rezaie and Bakkis. Richie Dio’s energetic vibe, infectious beats, immersive sounds and wide-range versatility have electrified dancefloors both locally and internationally and have inspired and garnered the growing attention of audiences and fellow artists.

Gilbert Le Funk is a DJ, musician and record producer.
 
Starting to compose at the age of 11, he got into music production in the late 90s, greatly influenced by the eurodance and house music of Paul Van Dyk, Bob Sinclar, Armand Van Helden, or ATB. Though later he would spend the day listening to more diverse music, from Stravinsky to Casiopea, Incognito or Frank Zappa, which lead him to learn to play electric bass and trumpet as well as setting up is own studio, where he would first work as a musical arranger for other artists.

In 2005 he was moving away from acid jazz and his label La Musique Fantastique was born, starting his Gilbert Le Funk project by making remixes for labels Delecto (CAN), Catch 22 (NYC) or Transport (SF) as well as playing some of the biggest soulful house music acts all over Spain. In 2006 he produced “Work It Out” for DJ Disciple, a track that would mark a before and after in his career, making him responsible for one of the underground hymns during that year. Later, his remix of "L.A. Girls" was premiered by Dimitri From Paris and used on the MTV series "The Hills". In 2008, "Afrikantastique" got licensed by Defected and Subliminal and it wasn't long until he became a major player in the house scene. 

A solid string of releases have followed since then, topping the charts "All About the 90s", "Something", "New Dawn" or the more recent "Wanna Be Free", taking him to tour the world as a DJ, playing venues from the US to Costa Rica, Russia or UAE.
