We've been big fans of Leftside Wobble's 'Acid Soul' series, so we are delighted to have him put together a mix for us. Here are some words from him regarding his mix for us:

"Leftside Classics is a retrospective featuring some of the tracks that have meant the most to me over the last five years or so. These are the tracks that somehow always find a way back into my sets, tracks that rise above the transient and tracks that defy limiting genre pigeonholes. My sets have always been about joining the dots, celebrating the eclectic and supporting those tracks that exist in the rich hinterland between dub, funk, disco and house. Hopefully this retrospective captures that overriding ethos.

I've included a small selection of unreleased LW bits and a few exclusive versions of well known staples to keep things pushing forward too.

Clandestino 026 - Leftside Wobble

This is my reimagined version of “Como Nossos Pais”, a timeless classic by the legendary Elis Regina, one of Brazil’s most iconic voices.

• The song became a symbol of resistance and introspection during Brazil’s dictatorship era, holding a special place in the history of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira).

• The idea came to me during my first invitation to DJ at Burning Man. 

I felt a deep responsibility to share more than just a DJ set with Camp Mystic and the Burning Man community. I wanted to bring a piece of Brazil’s musical richness, and “Como Nossos Pais” immediately came to mind as the perfect song to reshape.

••• I hope this track resonates with you as deeply as the original has for generations.

Esta é a minha versão reimaginada de “Como Nossos Pais”, um clássico atemporal da lendária Elis Regina, uma das vozes mais icônicas do Brasil.

• A música se tornou um símbolo de resistência e introspecção durante o período da ditadura no Brasil, ocupando um lugar especial na história da MPB (Música Popular Brasileira).

• A ideia surgiu durante meu primeiro convite para ser DJ no Burning Man.

Senti uma profunda responsabilidade de compartilhar mais do que apenas um set de DJ com o Camp Mystic e a comunidade do Burning Man. Queria trazer um pedaço da riqueza musical do Brasil, e “Como Nossos Pais” veio imediatamente à mente como a música perfeita para reinterpretar.
