On episode one of Sound Motives, drummer, producer, and Ghostly International recording artist, Zach 'Shigeto' Saginaw talks about what influences have shaped his sound, discussing his hometown of Ann Arbor, and his experiences growing up near Detroit. He talks about his musical beginnings, the challenges involved in performing live as an electronic artist, and the dangers of getting sick of your own work.

These discussions are framed around 'Sound Sources' from Shigeto's upbringing; tracks and influences which have shaped his musical journey so far, alongside productions of his own.

A decade in the making, Trevor discusses how 'FORMAT' came about, his graphic design career, growing up as the London club scene emerged, his role in Output, releasing early Four Tet and LCD Soundsystem, right through to talking about the state of club culture and his beloved London, today.

Ancient Mechanisms’ is the fourth album by globetrotting London production duo LV. It traces a train of thought that was sparked by a live session with Tigran Hamasyan back in 2012: two and a half years down the line and a trip to Belgium later, the finished record is as much about the workings of musical artefacts as it is about putting the virtuoso pianist into new contexts.
