Coming straight out of Chicago left a great impression on Gillespie. Being exposed at an early age to artist such as Curtis Mayfield and Smokey Robinson geared him towards the smooth sounds of soul. His moniker pays tribute to the great jazz musician Dizzy Gillespie, whom (Gills) frequently listens to. Gillespie draws inspiration from some of rap’s greatest MC’s, mainly LL Cool J and Mos Def. Listeners can expect the flare and swagger of LL mixed with the raw emotion that music fans gain from Mos Def. The mission of the music is simple, to be listened to and not heard. Gillespie is here to let his voice lay his path. The trio Go’ Boys is comprised of Jay TWD, Prime, and Gillespie.
