Meet Makú, a Colombian-born DJ based in New York, blending the rhythms of her heritage with the pulse of the city. Makú fuses traditional rhythms with electronic beats, creating a unique sound that connects the past to the present. With her music, she bridges the gap between cultures and genres, assuring that the ancestral/nature sounds are combined with modern electronic elements, transporting listeners to a world of liberation, spiritual connection, and dance floor ecstasy.
Makú about her set: Curating this music mix was a rewarding journey. I drew inspiration from my favorite artists and explored the underground scene, discovering new sounds. Working with downtempo music was a fresh challenge that required patience and adaptability, but ultimately allowed me to tap into a unique rhythm and expand my creative palette.
